Killjoy and Colette Crew Progress.

Killjoy is done now...in my opinion at least...

I've also made some (admittedly minor) progress on my 'Performing Belles' project.

I've done even less work on the Belle conversions...

...and bugger-all on Molly's Necrotic Machine...

I have also decided to purchase the Avatars and unique Totems for all the 'Masters' and 'Henchmen' that I currently use as I've been having great fun with Seamus's 'Avatar of Dread' and his Copycat Killer Totem and therefore foresee the same fun with everyone else's.

In other news...I plan on entering my first ever Malifaux tournament in Walsall in late November. Though I still plan on using themed lists for the event I may throw in the odd cheesy combo if I can keep them relatively 'Fluffy' while doing so ;-)

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

Forge World Newsletter 319

In true Forge World style.....here's a load of awesome looking stuff that's really fucking expensive but I'll probably end up buying some of anyway...
It didn't fit into blogger in it's original format so I've rearranged it a bit. It should still have all the links in it but if it doesn't.....well that's bad luck...I'm not fucking around with it any more, lol.

Hi there,
The dust has begun to settle from Games Day UK and The Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal has been met with an incredible reaction from all of you who picked up a copy. Today we’re excited to unleash it for general release, alongside Angron the Red Angel!
The Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal
The Horus Heresy Book One - BetrayalThe Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal is now available to order for immediate despatch. This book will be available exclusively from Forge World and the Warhammer World store.
This 290-page tome delves into the fratricidal conflict on Isstvan III that saw Warmaster Horus’s traitor Legions purge their own ranks of those legionaries that would remain loyal to Terra. It also contains a general overview of the Great Crusade, and a wealth of detail covering the foundation of the Space Marine Legions and the histories of four of these immense military forces.
Lavishly decorated, this book is leather-bound with inlaid metal detailing and foil-blocked page edging, and also features metal cleats to the corners of the book’s casing impressed with the Imperial Aquila.

Written by
Alan Bligh, it is a stand-alone supplement for Warhammer 40,000 and contains a vast array of colour profiles, maps and artwork. Also included is a full Space Marine Legion army list and background, character profiles, special rules and pre-Heresy histories for the Death Guard, Sons of Horus, World Eaters and Emperor’s Children Legions.
The book also contains a wealth of game content including a full campaign system to play out the Betrayal at Isstvan in games of Warhammer 40,000, unique Warlord Traits for the Space Marine Legion army list, terrain charts for the corpse-choked ruins of Isstvan III and a full set of Horus Heresy-era Zone Mortalis rules.
You can find out more about The Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal in these videos, or click here if pict-interference prevents their appearance.
Angron the Red Angel, Primarch of the World Eaters Legion
Angron Primarch of the World Eaters LegionThe most bloody-handed and savage of the Emperor’s gene-forged sons is the Primarch Angron, whose legendary reputation in battle has earned him the title of The Undefeated amongst his brothers. Cast in his youth upon a world of brutal oppression, he was enslaved and surgically mutilated to become a gladiator in its games of death, eventually becoming the undefeated lord of the red sands, a killer without peer.
When he rebelled against his brutal overlords, the Emperor saved Angron from certain death alongside his loyal followers, an act Angron has never forgiven the Emperor for. It is little surprise then that when his brother Primarch Horus turned against the Emperor that Angron was quick to side with the traitorous Warmaster; his only true master though was ever his rage and bloodlust.
Angron the Red Angel, Primarch of the World Eaters, designed by Simon Egan, is an incredibly detailed multi-part resin model showing the Primarch of the World Eaters charging headlong into battle whilst Space Marines fall before his mighty axes, Gorefather and Gorechild.
This paragon of war is supplied on a 40mm base for gaming purposes, which slots into a 60mm scenic diorama base for display. We also decided that this very special model deserves appropriate packaging, and so Angron is supplied in a particularly handsome presentation box as well.
Rules for fielding the Primarch Angron can be found in the Lords of War appendix to the Space Marine Legion army list in The Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal. This model is available to order now for immediate despatch.
You can find out about how designer Simon Egan approached such an iconic project in the video below, or click here if scrapcode interference blocks the pict-feed:
Building a Space Marine Legion
The Legiones Astartes form the most powerful fighting force ever deployed by humanity. Gene-forged by the towering intellect of the Emperor of Mankind, each Space Marine is a near-unstoppable machine of war, armed and armoured with the finest examples of Imperial technology.
We’ve put together the following guide to the Forge World kits that will form the core of a Legion force using the army list in The Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal. We’ve broken these down into their Force Organisation chart slots, and as we release more of our Horus Heresy range we’ll be adding to this list.

Nightmare Justice

I've finally finished my Dead Justice crew.

I don't think they'll be used as a Lady Justice crew that often...they'll see more table-top time as their Resurrectionist equivalents. Even so it's nice to have access to a crew from a different faction for demonstration purposes on the occasions that I show other people how to play the game. Despite my love of the Resurrectionists they're probably not the best faction to use for training purposes due to their unique and somewhat synergistic play style. I've found that a firm grasp of the basic game mechanics is required before one begins to worry too much about 'Tricks of the Trade'.....and the Ressers do like their tricks, lol.

Anyway...here they are...

'Nightmare' Justice

Lady/Dead Justice

The Judge

Death Marshal 1

Death Marshal 2

Death Marshal 3

At some point I'm going to go back to 'The Judge' as he's the only one who's paint-job I'm not particularly happy with.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

The Performing Belles...

As mentioned previously I'm planning on converting some of the none Resurrectionist female Malifaux models into forms that Seamus 'The Mad Hatter' and myself find more...interesting...Colette Du Bois and her 'Showgirls' were to be the first...victims...

To start I bought a pack of 'Rotten Belles' so I could use their umbrellas and fans to add to the Performers so they fitted the Belle theme better and hopefully I'd be able to do something with the left-over Rotten Belles so the models would still be usable as 4th, 5th and 6th Belles in my Seamus crew should it ever become necessary.

I came up with the following...

'Performing Belle' 1
The hand holding the fan looks a little large on the picture but I can soon cover that up with a sleeve or something. The performers hand was donated to one of the Belles and together with a hand from an old metal 40K/Warhammer Daemonette made the model usable and different enough from the original Belle to make them okay to use at the same time...

Come hither...
....I have something for you...
For the 2nd Performer I drilled a hole under the arm and made an umbrella handle...which looked rubbish...so my girlfriend messed around with it and made it look a bit better and then I added one of the Belles umbrella's to it...the resulting combination turned out rather pleasing...

'Performing Belle' 2
I turned the Belle's umbrella into a walking cane by the simple addition of a skull and it actually looks better on the model than I thought it would so it can stay, lol.

Rotten Belle Conversion 2
I then came up with somewhat of an issue with what to do with Cassandra. She needed to fit in with the umbrella and/or fan concept but also needed to keep her big-ass sword thing...This is what I came up with...

Kassandra 'The Belle'.

I turned what was left into a 3rd Belle using another Daemonette arm as the size matched. Unfortunately my spares stock consists mainly (well exclusively actually) of Games Workshop spares and the scale on those parts doesn't really work with Malifaux stuff which somewhat limits my conversion options.

Rotten Belle Conversion 3
With that lot done it just left Colette Du Bois...So it's time to Introduce...Madame Kolette...Apparently not all the Showgirls decided to join the new club.....

...and for my next trick...
So that's what I came up with...Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome...

'New' Look White Dwarf?

I'm told that White Dwarf is now a hobby magazine again rather than the giant advert that it had become...I'll withhold judgement till I've seen it 'in the flesh' but hopefully GW are finally listening to what people want.

Games Workshop 'News' letter 22.09.2012

I hate the new Maulerfiend 'Zoid' looking thing, the Raptors heads are weird and the models that really need updating...haven't been updated.....i also dislike the idea of a hardback codex as It makes them fucking awkward to take anywhere.....

.....and people still wonder why I've gone off 40K....

In this issue: Death to the False Emperor!
New Chaos Space Marines and First Hardcover Codex
Chaos Space Marines are corrupt and treacherous super-warriors hell-bent on tearing apart the Imperium. Though they once strode the galaxy as noble defenders of Mankind, a lifetime of unremitting war has driven them to worship the gods of Chaos. These fell deities have rewarded them with arcane powers, daemonic war marines and hellish weaponry with which to slaughter the armies of the Emperor.

This is a landmark day. On Advance Order is our first ever hardback Warhammer 40,000 Codex as well as astonishing new plastic kits. Codex: Chaos Space Marines is a high quality tome that contains 104 full-colour pages. It comes with the full background and rules for the forces of the Chaos Space Marines, including a gatefold reference page, incredible artwork and a stunning miniatures showcase.

If that wasn't enough, feast your eyes on this:
The Chaos Space Marines Heldrake is a winged Daemon Engine that plummets out of the sky like a comet, hurtling towards enemy aircraft and crashing into them from above. It's an enormous, dragon-like construct, a Chaos fusion of flesh, bone and metal.

That's not all, though, as we've the barbaric Forgefiend/Maulerfiend kit, an incredibly dynamic Raptors/Warp Talons kit, and our first ever Warhammer 40,000 plastic single figure, the Aspiring Champion. Not to mention a host of spectacular new Chaos Space Marines releases available in our premium resin, Citadel Finecast. Also available is Psychic Cards: Chaos Space Marines, the complete set of Psychic cards available to this army, and which can be used in conjunction with Psychic Disciplines.

McMourning and Crew

I've pretty much completed McMournings Crew now....The faces need a bit of work but other than that I'm going to call these done.

McMourning and Crew
McMourning
Sebastion
Flesh Construct
Nurse 1
Nurse 2
I'm nearly done with 'Dead Justice' so I'll have some pictures of the finished crew in the next day or so (Wednesday probably) and I've made a start on turning Colettes 'showgirls' into something a bit more...well...undead, lol.

I also got distracted by this model that was sitting on the shelf at Titan Games whispering 'buy me'...so I did...
