I figured that the most boring part of this project was going to be applying the base colour to everything. I therefore have decided to get it out of the way first...
The observant amongst you will notice that I only have enough arms for five of them. There was a very good reason for this but it seems a bit silly now...Time to mix another pot of metallic blue paint and brace myself ready for the Vindicator pile ;-)
You actually mix your metallic paint up?

What's the recipe for that lovely blue colour you use? I presume its on a blog post here somewhere?
@ fester - It's Ultramarines Blue and Boltgun Metal, in a roughly 2/1 Mix. I mix a new batch just before I've used the last of the old one so I can match the colour up exactly (well most of the time, lol).

@ GDMNW - I was originally going to use Ironclad Dreadnoughts with appropriate arms as 'Riflemen' as I thought they looked more appropriate as a gun platform. My friend Mike needed a set of arms for something or other so we bought an Ironclad between us.
ReplyDeleteI later decided against the idea and so now have an Ironclad with no arms. I'm now left to decide whether to buy the ForgeWorld arms or just convert some myself...
