Games Workshop - Sneak Preview.

Apparently the long rumoured 'Specialist game' release from Games Workshop is going to involve Pirates.....which is a shame as I'd much rather have had something to do with Battlefleet Gothic or a Space Hulk expansion.

Never mind,

  1. Certainly has been the 'Summer of Fantasy' hasn't it....

  2. Oh? Grey Knights got released in April. Since then we've had Storm of Magic, Ogre Kingdoms and now this Man 'o' War special. Seems pretty Fantasy-heavy to me.

  3. @ Lycaeus Wrex - I don't really count 'Man o War' and there have been plenty of 40k models released even if they haven't done any codices (other than Sisters).

I heard that Storm of Magic didn't sell particularly well either. So it might have been an attempt to up the profile of Fantasy but I don't think it succeeded in any real way.

  4. I like the new GW release ethos much better these days. Few years ago you got all your releases when the codex came out and then you had to wait 5-6 years when it got updated. Little bite sized releases (what they've done with DE mainly but also all these plastic characters they made for Fantasy) keep things interesting and fresh I think.
