The Onslaught Begins!
The bellow could have frozen the blood of the Celestians themselves, but somehow the beasts that followed it were even more terrifying. There were a dozen of them charging from the treeline, their reddish skin daubed with war-paint. The heavy blades in their hands were longer than the tallest man in Hektor’s regiment, and plates of thick armour were strapped to their massive frames. Ogres!
Kings of War has a huge pile of releases this Summer, but many people in the Mantic office will tell you that the Ogres stand head and shoulders over the rest! (Pun entirely intended.) The wait's almost over now, and the Ogre range will be hitting the Advance Orders section of the Mantic website on Monday. Make sure you've got it bookmarked! We can hardly wait - James was almost convinced to set aside his Undead army, until he realised that he didn't need to. Ogres are a neutral army in the upcoming Kings and Legends book, so anyone can use them as allies! There really is no excuse not to pick up a box or two. We'll be showing off loads more pictures over the next week, so make sure to follow us on Facebook and the Mantic Blog.
If the Ogres aren't enough for you, several new units for the Goblins are also going up on Advance Order on Monday. These devious green-skinned sneaks are adding the terrifying Mincer (as shown above!) to their ranks, as well as fast cavalry in the form of the Fleabag Riders and a trio of villainous Heroes. If you want to get your head around the Goblin army before then, there are already several units available for the army. Check them out over at the Mantic webstore, and why not download a free copy of their army list so you can start planning today?
If you're not already familiar with it, the Mantic Blog is a great place to keep up with all things Mantic on a daily basis. It's a place where we show off new releases, give sneaky previews from the sculptors' desks, report on gaming events around the world, andmuch more! The blog's recently had a bit of an overhaul, and we're still tinkering with it, but we've already had several compliments on the new look so check it out if you haven't done lately!
In case you missed the news last week, the Kings of War Two-Player Battle Set is now only £39.99, giving you an absolute bargain and a great way to start playing! There's more detail over at the Blog, including a link where you can download army lists for the forces in the box.
