Hasslefree Miniatures Newsletter

The usual selection of reasonably priced naked chicks amongst the other less naked stuff. They're still my 'go-to' should I need a female model as an armature when the look I want isn't available as a complete model elsewhere.

A Naked Chick, a Buddhist and a guy in a Banana Costume walk into a bar..
.. if anyone can finish that joke please let me know ;)
This week we have the metal release of Concubine (b), Gareth and Mystic Warrior Kev. We also have the resin release of the first variation of Zetta, the return of the, now upgraded, mystic Warrior Family Pack, some new etched brass and maybe some other stuff I won't remember until halfway down this newsletter :)
Also as I sit here typing it is 'boiling', so you'll have to forgive me if there's some worse than usual rambling, I'm pretty certain I'm getting heatstroke just sat here. Plus I 'really' wish I'd saved 'Starry, Starry, Night' for this week as there's a whole galaxy of them below!
So on with the glorious images before I faint (in a totally manly way!)...

Zetta the Barbarian
Hasslefree have always been known for their excellent ratio of female to male minis and following the recent release of Ákos we have Zetta, Kahtun of the Silver Horde.
A female barbarian made in a similar style to the Barbarian Queens in 80s fantasy movies, she stands proudly, resting on her heavy warhammer.
Like Ákos, this will be the 'only' way to get this version of the miniature. The metal release will be more clothed and may even have a different weapon.

Gareth, Vir Ariera*
Imagine your life isn't going that great, the only way you could afford to go to the world's biggest Sci-Fi convention was to get a job for one of the sponsors handing out leaflets dressed as a big banana. Not quite the best way to impress the Power Girl cosplayers.
(Please don't go and google those right now, you'll never come back to this newsletter)
Now imagine the Zombocalypse decides that day is an excellent day to happen. Yup, this is what you get to wear for the zombie-filled Apocalypse, at least it's hard to bite through!
Plus the con was in the States and a good 30% of the vehicles in the car park contained some weaponry! Gotta look for that silver lining :D
Gareth is inspired by, and named after, Gareth 'Grekwood' Sutherwood, a friend of Hasslefree who unfortunately passed away a couple of yars ago from a genetic disorder and who in life had a bizarre obsession with bananas :)
*That's probably not correct :)

Attack of the Naked Clones!
Our original Concubine needed remoulding and as sometimes happens when this is the case it causes Kev to look up from the 37 minis he's supposed to be working on and decide something needs changing.
This time he went a little further and just sculpted a whole new one! As it's a little taller, a little more ... voluptuous and has a little more hair (on her head) than the original one we decided to just go ahead and offer both,
So may we present Concubine ... (b)!

Kev, Patriarch of the Mystic White Family
After our 'May the Fourth Be With You' deal was significantly more popular than we envisioned, Kev once again downed tools on the 'very' important jobs I had lined up for him and sculpted a new Mystic Warrior Kev, downgrading the older one to 'Mystic Trainee'.
This Kev is also signiicantly taller than previous Kev's and clocks in at 28mm with wide stance, so just over 30mm stood tall. Zero gravity must be good for him!
Dressed in robes and armoured with the same powered baton as his wife, Mystic Libby,
The new Kev now means we can once again offer ...

Mystic Warrior Family Pack 2.0
Yup, your favourite space-based family are back again. This time the Kev is the upgraded one (You can still buy Mystic Trainee Kev as normal from the Dress-A-Kev range).
Each pack comes with a selection of  1.6mm Sci-Fi Acrylic Rod accessories to use as you wish (They wil be different colours and lengths, if you wish a full set of matching accessories they can be purchased seperately HERE).

More Resin Masters!
Some absolutely fantastic Resin Masters for you this week. Three of which are as-yet unreleased figures...
Harlequin - 'Harley' is the first of our Female Modern troopers. She comes with a single body-piece including head, a standard MT backpack and
Widow - The third member of our Spec Ops offshoot  of the Modern Trooper range. Equipped with P90 and DAGR.
Female Sci-Fi Trooper #1 - It'll be a while before this hits metal so we're offering the masters early for those who just can't wait. We're hoping to release a squad all at once rather than piecemeal.
Almira and Acenith - Joining Concubine (b) in our collection of resin harem girls we now have these two slightly lazier ones :)

Etched Brass Gravestones
A set of Graveyard Accessories, this is a very large sheet of everything you need for a graveyard setting including some multi-part pieces.
Excellent to combine with pieces from our Etched Brass Foliageselection!

Restocks at Last!
Some of our more popular minis slipped out of stock due to remoulding (The price of you all loving Kev's sculpts so much!).
Hamlet is now back in stock, meaning the Teenage Gang pack is also available again at last!
Our original adventurer Eve is back again.
And finally, Resin Boudi returns after slipping behind thanks to our Resin Masters overworking poor Mark over at Grey Matter :)
(Paintjobs by Paul Sanderson, Gi6ers, Brandlin & Michael Garcini)

And Finally...
We had an excellent response last week to our request for feedbackon our upcoming Kickstarter. As a result we have decided which of the two ideas to go with and will give moe information over upcoming weeks as we're going to be workign hard to try and bring that to you in August. Please be aware this is not going to be one of those gazillion dollar, 300 stretch goal, get your second mortgages prepared deals so no need to start saving just yet :) It's our first test Kickstarter (should everything align well we hope to have our larger one in November) and so won't break the bank for anyone no matter how popular it becomes :)
Lots more Work In Progress shots over on our Facebook Page. Talking of which we've received a number of messages recently wondering why our updates don't show up on their feed. The actual answer is just the way Facebook pages work.  The less interactivity you have with a page, the less of their updates you receive. So even if you have nothing to say when you see a WIP you like or a thread you enjoy yoru best bet to continue seeing them is to hit 'like' or throw in a quick 'I like that' kind of reply.
I know this because recently my own work account stopped seeing Hasslefree updates :D I'd forgotten that as I always reply and like 'as' Hasslefree my interactivity with the page was pretty much zero *blush*
This is also the reason why we keep seeing people calling both Giantand Widow the second of our Spec Ops team and wondering when more will come. For the record, Deano now has 'two' additional members finished and on their way (should be about 2-3 weeks). There will be at least one more member of the team and maybe even an additional extra or two.
*whew* Lots this week, I hope that's everything :) Coming in the next couple of newsletters should be a second 'Convention Hero' from the same Zombocalypse disaster that stranded Gareth in his ridiculous slash awesome outfit. We'll also have Roddy, a mutant from a more -sci-f version of the apocalypse, the metal release of Harlequin, a new variant of Dynamic Kalee, a new Halfling from a sculptor friend of Hasslefree and the addition of a whole new range (Whatever shall it be?!)!
'Citing times! 'Til then,
Arty
