Amongst the many wonderful new units are these...things...
They're called Centurions (apparently) and the rumour mill tells us the following about them...
Notes on Centurions:
Centurions can be taken as Elites or Heavy. Heavy support are the Devastator option.
Centurion “Devastators” come with Twin-Linked Heavy Bolter and Hurricane Bolter for 60 pts. You can have up to 6 in a squad. Hurricane can be upgraded to missile and HB upgraded to Twin-Las cannon or Grav-cannon and grav-amp.
Can upgrade to omniscope which gives night fight and split fire special rules.
They can select a Land Raider as a dedicated transport.
Special Rules: Slow and Purposeful, Decimator Protocols(Can fire up to two weapons in each shooting phase), Very Bulky, Chapter Tactics, and TSKNF.
Elites are the assault option. They come with Siege Drills at S9, twin-linked flamers and Ironclad assault launchers. They can upgrade Flamers to Meltas and Assault Launcher can be upgraded to Hurricane Bolters.

ReplyDeleteat the same time i was learning that technology in the 41st millenium is going backwards rather than advancing....
so i guess these things are wrong on both counts
It's a shame because from a background point of view they match my Night Reapers chapter perfectly...Of course they're too expensive, crappy looking and I don't play 40K any-more...but other than that they're perfect...

DeleteAre these not badly reverse engineered suits of terminator armour? Doesn't that keep with the theme of technology going backwards? Marines have always been stuck with only one type of heavy infantry, terminators, I think changing it up a bit should be fun :) but ill certainly not be giving GW 50 quid for 3 :P
ReplyDeleteJust use them as Techmarines and the Master of the Forge. If you use some green stuff and metal pins you can convince anyone because the Centurions already look like flashier versions of the Techmarines to begin with.
