Unboxing Malifaux - Malifaux Raptors

Not all of Malifaux's Raptors are propelled towards you by Austringers...some of them are happy to tear your face of without outside influences...or perhaps with somewhat different outside influences.....

Blister Artwork.

Malifaux Raptors Stat Card (1.5)
With the advent of version 2 (M2E) these 1.5 version stat cards are obsolete but they are included here for the sake of completeness.

Malifaux Raptors - Assembled
The models are for the most part a single piece though the claws are separate...and aren't a great fit so will require a small amount of filling...well mine did at least. They also come with a rock and a branch respectively that they are mounted on to give them elevation and these have some issues of their own that we'll discuss in the relevant section below.

Malifaux Raptor 1
It's a difficult model to photograph so I've had to take multiple angle pictures so you can get a good idea of it's overall look.

Here's a close-up of the branch...

...as you can see there's only really one point at which you can attach the claws if you want the Raptor to be level...you'll also notice that I've used a lot of glue as the arch in the claws was slightly smaller than the diameter of the branch. I'll tidy this up a little at a later point as some of the detail is obscured by my somewhat overzealous application of super-glue...I'm not a patient person, lol.

Malifaux Raptor 2
Also a difficult model to photograph so I've had to take multiple angle pictures so you can get a good idea of it's overall look.

Here's a close-up of the rock.

Yes, the mounting point is (according to the 'official' picture at least) a tiny indentation on the rock that aligns with a slightly flatter part of the wing...

...though you could mount the rock more centrally and attach the model to it via the claws if you wish a variant look but I've gone with the default pose. As is to be expected with the relative heaviness of a metal model and such a small contact point you'll need a bit of patience to get it to stay in place. I used super-glue activator as I lacked the requisite patience level...

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
