Unboxing Guild Ball - The Union

Steamforged Games Kickstarter 'Guild Ball' has landed on most pledges doorsteps now and is also available to buy from a number of locations. I'll be getting the few models I'm missing from the Guilds that I was too poor to buy at the Kickstarter stage from my friendly local game store Titan Games.

Most Guilds consist of six or seven available models with the starter sets containing three to get you up and running. A standard 'small' game involves three models (a 'Captain' and two others) with the larger game being six (a Captain, a mascot and four others). The Union however are playable both as a team in their own right (if you have the Captain and Mascot models that is) or as Mercenaries in other teams.

The Union.
Let me just get one thing straight, no one likes ‘em … but sometimes you just got a hole that needs filllin’ if you get my meaning?
- Ox , Captain, Butcher’s Guild

The Union play style is one of role specialism and individual play. They have an array of strong options across attack. Their defensive game isn’t as strong due to their focus on assassin or surgical removal style play. You need a game plan; set them up to deliver it and you will win. Think of these like a team of precision scalpels - just don’t try chopping down trees with them. Their strength and flexibility comes from matching the right players to do the job you need before proceeding. Each model is simply strong at what it does, and doesn’t require assistance to do it. This is a team with little to no buffing. Want a big tanky guy taken down, send in Decimate … Want their backfield defensive midfielder to stop playing out buffs everywhere, Snakeskin will deliver … Just want someone messed up, Gutter’s the girl.
--------------------

These models were available individually or as one free model per team ordered as part of the Kickstarter. Therefore these are the six models I got as freebies and with eleven (ish) available Union models this feature will be the least complete one I've done so far. I will however add the missing models to them as my need to have everything inevitably results in me purchasing them. Some of the Kickstarter teams also included an alternate version of certain models so where the model is an alternate sculpt I'll point it out. The models currently missing from this feature are Avarise & Greed, Coin, Decimate, Hemlocke,

Should you be looking at purchasing a starter set then the one for the Union contains Avarise & Greed, Blackheart and Coin. The Kickstarter models don't come with a box so here's an 'official' picture from the website of the starter set contents.

Each model comes with a stat card and the starter set comes with a ball as well. Here are the stat card pictures for the six models that I currently possess.

The models themselves are multi-part though obviously some have more parts than others and there's a couple that require no assembly at all. Here they are unassembled...

Blackheart (Captain).
This is the alternate Kickstarter version of the captain. I'll add a picture of the original one if I acquire it in the future.

Fangtooth, Gutter, Mist, Rage, Snakeskin.

The Ball.
I know you probably don't care about this but I'm a bit of a completest, lol.

These are them assembled. They are based on the resin bases that were part of my Kickstarter pledge. The detail on these models is excellent and in order to show them to their full potential I've taken front, rear and side views.
