Unboxing Carnevale - Strigoi Starter Set

One of my many Kickstarter pledges over the last year or so was one for Carnevale, The Narrative Miniatures Game. Or more accurately for the aforementioned game to fund two new factions namely The Strigoi and The Vatican. As with all such things I took pictures of everything as I went along and we'll have a look at the rulebook and other bits and pieces at a later date. For now however lets have a look at the starter set models.

As these were part of a Kickstarter they came 'as-is' rather than in a box of any kind but I'm guessing that should you buy them retail they'll be in an attractive container of some description...

First some background...

After laying in slumber for centuries, Draculea rises again to walk the earth amongst the living. The Rent in the Sky woke him up, and he will summon the children of the night to pave his way up there in order to conquer the supernatural realms beyond that celestial gate. And his way will be soaked with the blood of the living, and will begin in the city of Venice.

You can download their rules here in ENGLISH and in SPANISH.

The Strigoi
And now onto the models themselves...Each model will be shown in it's unassembled state with pictures of both sides of the parts and then assembled with front, rear and side views of each. I put the models on the base inserts that came with the Kickstarter so the tab that normally goes into the slot on bases was removed from those models that had them.

Noble Strigoi
Unassembled

Assembled
I had a bit of trouble getting the body section into the cloak section and had to do a tiny bit of extra filing to get it to fit.

Aquatic Strigoi
Unassembled

Assembled
The jaw being separate is a bit fiddly but other than that the model is issue free. You also get a choice of arms though there aren't major differences between them.

Strigoi (Male)
Unassembled

Assembled
The model is a single piece so should create no problems.

Strigoi (Female)
Unassembled

Assembled
The model has one arm separate and it's quite thin so the contact point isn't particularly substantial but mine stayed on with glue alone...it was a little thin to pin.

Servant
Unassembled

Assembled
The model has a choice of crossbow or shovel as in game you can upgrade the shovel to a crossbow for an additional points cost. Attachment points are more than adequate and even the small lantern attaches fairly easily.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
