Unboxing Malifaux - M2E Hooded Rider

Are you using that head?...I have space for one more...

The Hooded Rider box contains enough parts for one miniature...namely the Hooded Rider. It also contains a stat card for him though there are no upgrade cards.

Hooded Rider - Sprue
The box has two sprues in it as well as the aforementioned card. Here's pictures of both sides of them...

Hooded Rider - Stat Card
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Hooded Rider - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly.
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Hooded Rider- Assembled
The main body of the horse is in two sections that fit together with no issues and the legs each have a clearly defined area to attach to so should cause no problems. In fact even the head pieces of the horse and the 'tentacle' like horse hair all fit into well defined sections and are problem free. As long as you follow the instructions and/or use my assembled pictures as a reference this model should cause no problems at all...

Here's some close-ups...

Hooded Rider - Comparison Picture
I'm afraid I don't have the original metal version of this model so here's the official picture of the original and you'll just have to use your imagination, lol.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

  1. I know it has been some time, but I was wondering if you had any troubles getting the rider to fit into the saddle, because I'm having the devil's own time getting them together.

    1. Usually if I have any issues they're mentioned in the article so as I didn't raise the issue then I probably didn't have it. All I can suggest is making sure that the parts are free of 'flash' and have been removed flush to the sprue so there's no extra bits that shouldn't be there. Other than that then careful filing in the problem area might be necessary.

If it seems like the part may be deformed in some way then Wyrd may send you a replacement i you fill out the form on their website...
