Unboxing Malifaux - M2E Gaki

"BOO..."

The Gaki box contains enough parts for three miniatures...namely the Gaki. It also contains stat cards for them though there are no upgrade cards.

Gaki - Sprue
The box has two sprues in it one of which is split into two pieces (so it actually fits in the box one presumes) as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of them...

...and here's some close-ups of the individual sections.

Gaki - Stat Card
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Gaki - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly.
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Gaki

Gaki 1 - Assembled
The claws and ribbons are quite delicate so be careful when handling and removing from the sprue. The head is in three parts but the only bit that's awkward is the tongue as though it has a definite location point in can be glued in at several locations if you're not paying attention.

Gaki 2 - Assembled
As with the previous model the ribbons and claws need care taken with the handling and sprue removal to avoid breakages. The two 'cloak' sections that go around the waist area are also not a great fit so may need a bit of trimming to get a tight join.

Gaki 3 - Assembled
Claws and ribbons again...but other than that the model goes together just fine and even the three part head is fairly easy to handle. The main body is in four sections which at the waist form a shape into which the upper body slots. As these parts connect to the sprue at these locations it's possible that this shape may not be perfect due to over zealous clipping or filing so it's important to keep these areas as true as possible.

Gaki - Comparison Picture
Here's a couple of comparison pictures between the original metal versions and the new M2E plastic ones.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
