Unboxing Malifaux - M2E McTavish

"Walkies..."

The McTavish box contains enough parts for one miniature...namely McTavish. It also contains a stat card for him and two upgrade cards.

McTavish - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it split into two pieces (so it actually fits in the box one presumes) as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of them and a few close-ups of the separated sections.

McTavish - Stat Card
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

McTavish - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly.
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

McTavish - Assembled
The alligator itself consists of four sections that link together to form the main body and everything else attaches to that assembled section. The pieces interlock together fairly easily and each of the legs has a slightly different shape to the attachment point so getting them mixed up shouldn't be an issue. McTavish himself is only six pieces and for the most part a single body piece and a leg with separate arms. Considering the overall size it's a fairly issue free model.

Mine is based on a 50mm Bayou base insert which I obtained from my FLGS Titan Games though you can also get them direct from the Wyrd Games store page.

Here's some close-ups...

McTavish - Comparison Picture
Here's a comparison picture between the original metal version and the new M2E plastic one. I don't know what he's been feeding that Gator on but it seems to agree with it...

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
