Unboxing Malifaux - M2E Witchling Handlers

'Handle with care...'

The Witchling Handlers box contains enough parts for two miniatures...namely the Witchling Handlers. It also contains stat cards for them though there are no upgrade cards.

Witchling Handlers - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of it...

Witchling Handlers - Stat Card
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Witchling Handlers - Instructions
The model labelled '1' in the instructions is marked as 'B' on the sprue...I'm sure you can work out which the other one is...

Some General Notes on Assembly.
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Witchling Handlers

Witchling Handler A - Assembled
The left leg is held to the body via the rope and hand piece so alignment is important. The only weak point is the aforementioned rope piece. The pistol on her hip needs to be aligned with the belt but will lie flat in a number of other locations so make sure it's in the right place before gluing. The three part head is a bit of a pain as the two hair pieces that go over the head top are a bit small and I'd recommend dry-fitting before gluing so you don't end up with a gap.

Witchling Handler B - Assembled
This model consists of only four parts so has no issues though the sword can go at other angles quite easily which is great if your a converter but worth noting if you want it like the box picture.

Witchling Handlers - Comparison Picture
Here's a few comparison pictures between the original metal version and the new M2E plastic ones including a sneaky look at the alternate version that will be getting it's own article shortly.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

  1. I am just getting started in Malifaux. These models are absolutely amazing.
I have major scale creep issues. Wyrd' s models look more like 25mm models due to their size. The heroic scale that Gee Dubs pushes is awful (though they are moving away from it in the last few years).

Wyrd miniatures are excellent. These guys are really cool.
