Unboxing Malifaux - Pistoleros De Latigo

"An extra gun or three can't hurt..."

The Pistoleros De Latigo box contains enough parts for three miniatures...namely the Pistoleros De Latigo. It also contains stat cards for them though there are no upgrade cards.

Pistoleros De Latigo - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of it...

Pistoleros De Latigo - Stat Card
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Pistoleros De Latigo - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly.
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Pistoleros De Latigo A - Assembled
One of the arms attachment points to the sprue is a bit difficult to get to so be careful you don't break it by levering on it with your cutters (It's the one attached to the sword blade). I put the arms on after I glued on the cloak...not sure that's the best way to do it but at least you know it's possible to do now. Other than those minor points this model is trouble free,

Pistoleros De Latigo B - Assembled
This one has a couple of small parts (The swords scabbard and the front part of the sash) but as most of the main body is one part this is less of a chore than you might imaging and they have definite location points. The sword and the meeting point between the right hand and the pistol are the only relatively weak points so be careful if pressing on these parts of the main body.

Pistoleros De Latigo C - Assembled
At only four parts this is a very simple model to assemble with no issues at all.

Pistoleros De Latigo - Comparison Picture
Here's a couple of comparison pictures between the original metal 'Latigo Pistolero' versions and the new M2E plastic 'Pistoleros De Latigo' ones. On a personal note I was a bit disappointed that none of the new sculpts were female given the models connection to the distinctly matriarchal Ortega clan...

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

  1. I was also disappointed by the lack of a Pistolera. The new ones also look to uniform, more like Guild Guard than rag tag Nephilim fighters.

    1. I think that once painted the differences will be more apparent though I am now tempted to convert some with Through the Breach character sprue parts to make a Pistolera or two.

  2. It may be suggesting that the ladies sit at the very top, while the bottom ranks are filled out by relatively generic gentlemen.

    1. They must get promoted from somewhere though...
