Unboxing Malifaux - M2E Union Miners

"Do you have your union card?"

The Union Miners box contains enough parts for three miniatures...namely the Union Miners. It also contains stat cards for them though there are no upgrade cards.

Union Miners - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of it...

Union Miners - Stat Cards
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Union Miners - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly.
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Union Miners

Union Miner A - Assembled
Other than the thin handle on the pick-axe this model has no issues and consists of a mere six parts.

Union Miner B - Assembled
This one is only five parts in total though as with the model above this ones 'weapon' has a relatively thin shaft so be careful when removing from sprue and during assembly. You will also need to align the two separate arms with both the body and the hands on the hammer so dry-fitting this bit is recommended before gluing.

Union Miner C - Assembled
This is the most complex of the three and has a number of challenges. The plunger on the detonator is extremely delicate and should not be levered on in any way so be very careful when pushing it into the location point on the box section. There are also some sticks of dynamite in the backpack whose protruding fuses are so tiny that they make the plunger look positively sturdy so avoid touching them at all if you can. This model as with 'Miner B' requires the alignment of separate arms and hands on the plunger section so dry-fit this part so as to avoid alignment errors.

Union Miners - Comparison Pictures
Here's a few comparison pictures between the original metal versions and the new M2E plastic ones. The main difference is that the original metal versions are significantly chunkier.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
