Unboxing Malifaux - Hodgepodge Emissary

"I'm sure I saw one of those in here...somewhere..."

The Hodgepodge Emissary box contains enough parts for one miniature...namely the Hodgepodge Emissary. It also contains a stat card for him as well as a great deal of upgrade cards.

Hodgepodge Emissary - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of it...

Hodgepodge Emissary - Stat and Upgrade Cards
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...though as the upgrade cards only have one side you can see all of those...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Hodgepodge Emissary - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly.
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Hodgepodge Emissary - Assembled
The model consists of many small pieces so be systematic when removing them from the sprue and when assembling. The tiny three part barrel doesn't have the flat side indicated on the instructions so you'll just have to 'best guess' it's location but as it's round it doesn't matter if you're a bit out. The 'Cannon' (or it might be some kind of vase) doesn't fit flush into it's indentation so will sit at the wrong angle if you're not careful...not that it matters much to the look if you get it wrong but I know some of you like their models to match the renders. The rifle goes into one of the baskets and the pan dangles on the outside according to the box render but this isn't clear on the instructions. I also put the rifle in the basket upside down as it should be butt up not barrel up...

The Rider is a bit fiddly and consists of gremlinish level small parts. The 'lump' on his foot aligns with the equivalent gap on the baggage. You'll also want to add the arms before the legs as they go in-between and are extremely difficult to correctly place if you put the legs on first. The long thin reigns are also tricky to align.

Here's some close-ups...

Hodgepodge Emissary - Comparison Pictures
As there's no metal version of this model of which to do a comparison picture here instead are a few pictures of the Hodgepodge Emissary with the Hodgpodge Effigies and one with the other currently available Emissaries...oh...and a rotating view as well...

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
