Unboxing Malifaux - Lucky Emissary

"Do you feel Lucky?.."

The Lucky Emissary box contains enough parts for one miniature...namely the Lucky Emissary. It also contains a stat card for him and a great deal of upgrade cards...

Lucky Emissary - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of it...

Lucky Emissary - Stat Card
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Lucky Emissary - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly.
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Lucky Emissary - Assembled
Okay then...You can fit the pig into the wheel even after it's glued together but as there is a slot for the foot you might want to consider (after assembling the pig of course) putting it's foot into the slot first and then gluing the wheel around it. As you'll no doubt be sensibly dry-fitting everything first you can make this decision for yourself at the time.

One of the upright struts has a 'string' piece that slots into a minuscule groove onto the piece attached to the wheel but fits surprisingly well once aligned. The scarf section on the gremlin 'driver' slots into a very small groove on the neck and it's probably easier if you put the arms on first though I did it the other way around and the scarf got in the way of the left arm quite a lot.

The 'bait' is attached to the fishing rod via a fairly thin rope and the tasty morsel is suspended from the end...imo this will making painting the bait without breaking the rope quite difficult so it might be worth waiting till after it's painted before attaching it...especially if 'dry-brushing' is in your painting plans. Also it may be difficult to paint the pig itself once you've fully assembled the model.

Here's some close-ups...

Lucky Emissary - Comparison Picture
As there's no original metal or alternate models with which to compare this one to here's a rotational view instead.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

    1. As the Emissaries have an upgrade card for each master it really depends which of those benefits most suits your own playstyle.

There's a list of what they are and what they do at the following link...
