There's LOADS of stuff to show you this newsletter. I have to apologise that because we were so involved with ourDeath in the Dark Continent Nickstarter campaign, new product piled up without us telling you about it!
So with that said, I'll let you look through it all without further comment. |
| The one thing I will mention is Salute, the UK's main show of the year, held in London on April 22nd. |

We will be attending in various forms. You won't find a North Star stand, but you will find myself, Kev Dallimore andGiorgio Bassani on the Osprey Games stand (TJ05) selling Frostgraveand Rogue Stars figures.
We will have display items from future projects including Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago and Dracula's America to show you.
We will have a limited number of our new Barbarian riding Woolly Rhino model to sell to the first customers to visit the stand.
We are also showing off the first plastic frame from our new Fantasy range. It is Dwarf Warriors. We won't have the box set ready, but you will be able to buy a frame of 5 warriors from us!
This is a new range, for a new game, we'll have more details later for you. |
In front of the stand we'll be running a Frostgrave Gnolls v Frostgrave Barbarian Dragon Rampant game, with a Frostgrave adventure on the side. A proper 'mash-up'.

Dave Thomas will be carrying a wide selection of our rulebooks, including many of our imports like Disposable Heroes 2, Impetus and Torriani Games. He'll have a big pile of Death in the Dark Continent as well.

Death in the
Dark Continent
Death in the Dark Continent is a 176 page, full colour, hard back book that takes the reader deep into late 19th Century Africa.
At it's heart is a wargame, a game that allows the player to field armies of miniature figurines representing African Tribes, European Invaders and Native Kingdoms.
With an emphasis on the people of Africa as well as the Colonial Invaders, Death in the Dark Continent is a unique publication offering 80 different army lists covering all the vastly different forces in Sub-Saharan Africa 1870 to 1899.
Death in the Dark Continent also includes a historical background to the situation in Africa 1870-99, a who's who of the major players and a 'bonus' skirmish game.
The publishers have filled the book with photographs of painted miniatures, many being used to illustrate actual game play as well as to show how attractive armies for this period can be. There is also a wide selection of illustrations and contemporary photographs to create a flavour of late 19th Century Africa. |
Savannah Knights
In the 19th century the eastern Savannah (now divided between the countries of Nigeria, Niger, Mali, and Cameroon) was one of the most neglected parts of the African continent, and yet at the same time one of the most culturally sophisticated. During this period warfare among the peoples of the eastern Savannah, and in particular the three most significant native states the Sokoto Caliphate, the ancient kingdom of Bornu, and the somewhat less ancient state of Bagirmi was largely dominated by cavalry, and a significant proportion of these mounted troops were armoured.Miniatures shown are painted by Kevin Dallimore. These figures are part of Kevin's private range that we are distributing on his behalf during the Death in the Dark Continent Nickstarter. They will only be available for a limited period of time. |

Flames of War Rulebook 4th Edition
The new edition of Flames Of War has slimmed down, to just over a third the size of the previous Version 3 rulebook. Unnecessary flavour text has been trimmed away and long, hard-to-apply rules have been revamped. The result is a fast-playing, easy-to-learn game. The new unit cards turn many of the old special rules into simple numeric ratings, so for example, there is no need to remember British Bulldog as the card has Motivation 4+, but Counterattack 3+. Likewise, Wide Tracks is now just an easier roll to cross terrain. The flavourful special rules are still there. The Germans still have Stormtroopers and the British still have Tally Ho and Mike Target. Better still, the rules are revamped to work with the new edition making them shorter, sharper, and more relevant to your games. Flames Of War retains (and expands) the tactical challenges players face, while getting rid of ‘gamey’ complexity and hidden ‘gotchas’. Hit allocation is down from four pages of complexity to two short and simple rules – you hit what you shot at (with additional hits going to their nearby friends) and the player being shot can roll a die to rearrange things if they don’t like your choices. |
