30mm Female Pirates - Kickstarter Unboxing and Review (Part Two)

Part One can be found HERE.
This particular Kickstarter was launched by an up and coming sculptor known as 'The Duke' in order to make a selection of female pirate figures in 30mm scale.
The pledge I selected was for the modest sum of £30 for eight models with the usual set of stretch goals that we expect from such campaigns and as I like to support the sort of projects that Kickstarter was actually meant for I gave it a go. Funding was achieved for the eight models quite quickly and some stretch goals were also reached as well. A few other models were unlocked also but as I kept with the default pledge I wont be able to show you pictures of those unfortunately.

The Kickstarter page itself can be found HERE should you be interested.

As I tend to cover models in some detail I'll be splitting this review into two parts. The first covered six of the planned models and this the second will cover the remaining two as well as four of the unlocked stretch goals...Part One can be found HERE.

An Overview
The models themselves are detailed enough in the areas that can be an issue with metal models (faces for the most part) as you can see from the painted versions at various points in this article. Mould lines are minimal and are fairly easily removed with a scalpel or file as they (with a few minor exceptions) don't tend to cross areas of significant detail. A minor criticism is that several of the meeting points between the smaller parts and the models body don't have raised sections or recesses on them for alignment so the joints aren't particularly strong on those parts with small connecting areas which may be an issue when transporting the models. Of course you can pin them if you're concerned and you have the patience...

Lets have a look at the next two of the planned models in both their unassembled and assembled forms followed by four of the stretch goals. One of the stretch goals was for resin bases which are the ones I've used on the models.

'Sureshot Sally'

'Chemical Cordelia'

 'Cat of the Canals

 'Pistol Pen'

These two models aren't female...or pirates...but they match the theme nonetheless...
 'Harbour Master'

'Customs Official'

Sadly due to financial constraints I couldn't add the remaining couple of unlocked miniatures and terrain to my pledge so you'll have to make do with these pics I 'borrowed' from their Kickstarter pledge page for those...

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...
