Unboxing Malifaux - Dead Outlaws

"Tis But a Scratch..."

The Dead Outlaws box contains enough parts for three miniatures...namely the Dead Outlaws. It also contains stat cards for them though there are no upgrade cards.

Dead Outlaws - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it split into two pieces (so it actually fits in the box one presumes) as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of them...

Dead Outlaws - Stat Card
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Dead Outlaws - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Dead Outlaws

Dead Outlaw A - Assembled
There is a quite delicate arrow on the main body section that you'll need to take care to avoid breaking. Also for some inexplicable reason the separate leg will fit on backwards which is okay I suppose if you want it on backwards. The separate arrows will go into the chest slot at a variety of angles so I went with the one that seemed to contain the joining piece most completely though it's possible I got this bit wrong...

Dead Outlaw B - Assembled
This one is fairly issue free though positioning the right arm is much easier if you attach the cloak afterwards as it gets in the way a little otherwise.

Dead Outlaw C - Assembled
The 'Fanning' arm on this one didn't align perfectly with the gun arm when I first assembled it so dry-fitting is important as there's a bit of play in the arm location area meaning you can mis-align the arms if you're not careful. The cloak joining area between the pieces also required a tiny bit of trimming for me to get it to fit however a few other people I've spoke to had no issues so it may have just been a minor moulding issue with my particular one...

Here are rotational views of each of the Dead Outlaws...

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...
