Unboxing Malifaux - Benny Wolcomb

"That looks infected..."
The Benny Wolcomb contains enough parts for one miniature...namely Benny Wolcomb. It also contains a stat card for him though there are no upgrade cards.

Benny Wolcomb
For the most part, the Brotherhood of the Rat is a legitimate organisation. The city's rat catchers work tirelessly to fight back the countless ranks of rats that live and breed in the sewers, but sometimes, the high-brow people of Downtown decide that they care more about negotiating for lower prices than they do about having a rat-free home.

That's where Benny comes in. Whether it's a sack of plagued rats dumped into someone's basement or just a bit of breaking and entering to "make up the difference" of a customer that didn't tip well enough, he knows all the ways to squeeze every last script out of a client.  If he wasn't spying on the Brotherhood for Hamelin, Benny might almost be considered one of its model members.

Benny Wolcomb - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it split into two pieces (so it actually fits in the box one presumes) as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of them and close-ups of the sub-assemblies.

Benny Wolcomb - Stat Cards
Stat cards in the official format can now be downloaded from Wargame Vault for a nominal fee from HERE.

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Benny Wolcomb - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.
Additionally...my own assembly notes are written as I go along so I'd suggest reading them all the way through before starting the assembly process.

Benny Wolcomb - Assembled
The upper body is in two halves as are the legs and these slot together once assembled. The three part cloak consists of two horizontal pieces which form the back and a trailing piece that attaches to this assembly afterwards and the completed sub-assembly attaches to Benny's back once done. The arms then slot into the gaps on either side formed once the cloak is added. The hands on the cloaked arms align with his bracers so make sure the angle is correct before adding glue. There's an indentation in the box which aligns with his right foot. Saving the worst till last you then add the tiny cigar and smoke. There's a tiny slot in his mouth for it to attach to but even so it'll go in at a variety of angles.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
I purchase my miniatures from Leodis Games (Link Below) and can highly recommend them.
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...
