Unboxing Malifaux - Hinamatsu

"Faster than the eye can see..."
Hinamatsu box contains enough parts for one miniature...namely Hinamatsu. It also contains a stat card for her though there are no upgrade cards.

Hinamatsu
Hinamatsu is an old puppet. Given life only a short time after Collodi itself, Hinamastsu was created to perform in theatre productions opposite living actors. It grew jealous of the attention heaped upon the other performers, however, and murdered one of them out of spite.

Fearing further incidents, Hinamatsu's master lured it into entering an underground vault near Debtor's Delve and sealed the puppet inside. Locked away in that hidden place for over a century, Hinamastsu swore that it would never again follow another's instructions.

When a team of convict miners opened the vault, Hinamatsu killed them and escaped northward, leaving behind a trail of corpses as it followed rumours of a puppetmaster. Instead of its creator, Hinamatsu found Collodi, another puppet that had been spurned by humanity. The two have started working together more out of shared misery than anything else.

Hinamatsu - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it split into two pieces (so it actually fits in the box one presumes) as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of them and close-ups of the sub-assemblies.

Hinamatsu - Stat Cards
Stat cards in the official format can now be downloaded from Wargame Vault for a nominal fee from HERE.

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Hinamatsu - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.
Additionally...my own assembly notes are written as I go along so I'd suggest reading them all the way through before starting the assembly process.

Hinamatsu - Assembled
The main body of Hinamatsu is in two halves which align without issue. Ensure you add the front sash and models face first, then the rear of the cloak so her arms don't get in way as you're putting the rest of the model together. The order you add the arms is somewhat critical if you don't want to cause yourself problems. The right arm with the downward facing sword aligns with a 'pip' on the rear of the shoulder and this creates the mounting point for the arm across her front which is drawing a sword from the scabbard at her waist. Then the arm holding the parasol handle followed by the left sword arm. This should just leave the parasol top to add at the end.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
I purchase my miniatures from Leodis Games (Link Below) and can highly recommend them.
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...
