"Why is that statue on fire?..."

The Obsidian Statue box contains enough parts for one miniature...namely the Obsidian Statue. It also contains a stat card for them though there are no upgrade cards.

The resurgence of magic on Earth since the opening of the first Breach has led to some odd events. Perhaps one of the strangest was the sudden awakening of the Obsidian Statue that guarded a small, forgotten temple in Tibet. The statue could only move its mouth, but even this was enough to draw pilgrims from far away lands.

Shenlong, upon learning of the statue, arranged for the statue to be brought to Malifaux. It was a massive undertaking, but the eventual journey through the breach completed the awakening and granted the statue full movement. 

Now, the Obsidian Statue serves those who gave it life. It owes them a debt that can never be repaid... and the Ten Thunders know this.

The box has one sprue in it split into two pieces (so it actually fits in the box one presumes) as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of them and close-ups of the sub-assemblies.

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Some General Notes on Assembly

Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Additionally...my own assembly notes are written as I go along so I'd suggest reading them all the way through before starting the assembly process.

There's a fairly delicate flame on one foot and on one hand that you need to take care not to break when assembling. The heads front and back both have alignment points so you almost have to squash the face on the front and hair on rear at the same time as if you glue them individually they almost get in each others way...you'll see what I mean when you try to put it together...dry-fit first is my only advice...
