Yes, but I think you knew that anyway.

The squadron rules aren't really your friend when your armour 12. Effectively a penetrating hit goes from a 33% chance to a 50% chance of destroying you as immobilised effectively becomes destroyed (wrecked). With all your points in Vehicles and few in Meltaguns you lose the one benefit of such a list which is the ability to 'Alpha-Strike' the shit out of something.

If I was doing a 'Flying Circus' at 1500 points I'd do this,

Total Roster Cost: 1500

You can swap the Company Command Squads 4 Flamers for 2 Meltaguns if you prefer and leave the anti-horde duties to the Valks. With your actual movement and Scout moves you should be able to cripple a Mech army fairly easily with a decisive first strike. Plus 4 Large Blasts from each of the Valk units should put a substantial dent in hordes or even Marines (if you make them take enough saves any unit dies, lol).

  1. Ah what mikes army should have been. the only issue would be getting that many guard models with meltaguns. but yeah i like it

    Plus the fact if you go first you can deploy 5 squads 12" from your opponant deploy 2" move 6" and be within 4" with the meltaguns. if that fails to kill you charge in with the bombs. God I love the smell of smoking armour

  2. @ Ska_punk_boy - Alpha strike is the only real thing a 'Flying Circus' has going for it imo, so maximising your strengths just seems like common sense.
