Unboxing Malifaux - Killjoy

Generally Neverborn hate humans...so does Killjoy...he just hates Neverborn as well...

The Killjoy box contains enough parts for one miniature...namely Killjoy. It also contains a stat card
for him though there are no upgrade cards.

The box has two sprues in it as well as the aforementioned stat card...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures by clicking on them. Wyrd Miniatures also seem to have stopped putting instructions in things and instead give you a leaflet with a web address on it that leads to a number of links.

I've put them here so you don't need to. Just click on it for a larger version...

Stat Card.

Assembled.
This is a very easy model to assemble except in one particular area...more specifics on that later...

Here's some close-ups...

Face and Chains.
Yes...each of those chains is a separate piece. They're all slightly different lengths and each one does fit a specific location. I used tweezers and lined up each one first to make sure I put the correct one in the correct location. It's a bit fiddly but by no means the worse thing on a Malifaux model I've ever experienced. Some people have had trouble with the chain that goes under the armpit and the best way to get a good fit is to insert it into place before you put the two body halves together although it will slot in with a tiny bit of filing and/or trimming if you've already passed this stage. Making sure every part is in the correct location before gluing is definitely to be recommended in this case.

Tools of the Trade.

I'm not sure how long this part will last during transportation but it does look cool...

Here's a comparison shot showing the difference between original metal Killjoy and the new plastic version.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

  1. Am I the only one who felt slightly compelled to throw some pants on this guy and cover up his big, lumbering Neverborn/Undead rump?

    1. That made me chuckle.

I have seen this model converted to use as Seamus's Avatar....that had trousers added, lol.
