Forge World Newsletter #461

Well it's certainly big...

The colossal Mars pattern Warlord Titan is among the most ancient and feared of the Imperium’s war machines. Forged on the Red Planet itself, it is worshipped and venerated as the Omnissiah’s will incarnate, and each god-engine is encased in layered armour and powerful void shielding, and armed with weapons that are capable of reducing armies to ash.

In addition to its ardex-defensor mauler bolt cannon and lascannon turrets, support weapons that would be considered main armaments on smaller war machines, the Warlord is commonly fitted with a pair of carapace-mounted triple-barrelled laser blasters and two Belicosa
pattern Volcano cannon.

The Belicosa pattern Volcano cannon is one of the most potent energy weapons produced by the forges of the Mechanicum. It is so fearsome infact that only the plasma reactor of the Warlord Titan can feed its ravenous appetite for power and make possible the destruction of the most terrible foes of Mankind. The Warlord’s triple-barrelled laser blasters are also immensely powerful weapons, created to destroy entire squadrons of armoured vehicles in each blazing volley.

By far the most impressive model we have ever produced, the Mars pattern Warlord Titan stands at over 22 inches tall and weighs more than twice that of a Reaver Titan. Consisting of more than 200 parts, this huge model is amazingly poseable and immensely detailed, from its pistons, vents and access hatches to the intricately designed cockpit and crew inside its head and the embossed icons on its armour plates. It will truly be the pinnacle of any collection and will dominate any battlefield it is placed on.

The rules for using the Mars Warlord Battle Titan can be found in The Horus Heresy Book Five - Tempest and may be used in both games set during the Horus Heresy and in standard games of Warhammer 40,000, in which case the Mars Warlord Battle Titan is a Lords of War choice for Armies of the Imperium and Chaos Space Marines.

The Mars pattern Warlord Titan Body, Mars-Alpha pattern Warlord Titan Head, Mars pattern Warlord Belicosa Volcano Cannon and Mars pattern Warlord Titan Laser Blasters are each multi-part resin kits which together build a complete Mars pattern Warlord Titan. You will need two Mars pattern Warlord Belicosa Volcano Cannon to complete the Warlord Titan.
Take a look at the Mars pattern Warlord Titan in the latest video from the Forge World Visual Feed.

Forge World Newsletter #448

Looks like some-one at Forge World is a big fan of the Solar Auxilia...

The Rapier weapons platform is used extensively by the Solar Auxilia. Its hard-wearing armoured track system and high load capacity make it ideal for carrying powerful weapons that are too heavy for an auxiliary to carry into battle. The long-range firepower of the quad mortar is used to suppress enemy troops and even crack through their armoured bunkers. Whilst the quad multi-laser tears through enemy infantry formations in rapid firing bursts, the terrifying sound of which has heralded the advance, and victory, of the Solar Auxilia for generations.
The Solar Auxilia Rapier Quad Mortar and Solar Auxilia Rapier Quad Multi-laser can both be taken as part of an Auxilia Rapier Battery in Solar Auxilia armies in Horus Heresy games. Rules for these units can be found in The Horus Heresy Book Four – Conquest.
These two complete multi-part resin kits each include a Solar Auxilia Rapier with two crew members. They are available to pre-order today for despatch from Friday 20th March.

Something for those Space Marine players with an inexplicable desire to paint things yellow...

Captain of the 405th Company of the Imperial Fists Legion, Alexis Polux 'The Crimson Fist' was a warrior of unique promise both elevated to greatness and condemned to bear great sorrow by the events of the Horus Heresy. A tactical genius with a talent for void warfare, he was the protégée of the Legion's greatest fleet masters, although before the dark betrayal of the Warmaster yet to reach his full potential. Inwit born, he was a physical giant even among his brothers of the Legion, and of a character as if cast in stone, emotionless and unyielding, whose reputation before the Battle of Phall rested as much on his strength in the bloody melee of close quarters combat as in command.
The latest model in our Horus Heresy Character Series, Alexis Polux is displayed on a scenic base with a banner of the IVth Legion, the Iron Warriors, cast at his feet. Wielding a power fist incorporating a combi-melta weapon, Polux is protected by void-hardened power armour, an iron halo and a vigil-pattern storm shield.
This multi-part resin kit is supplied with both a 32mm base as well as a 50mm scenic base. The rules for using Alexis Polux in games set during the Horus Heresy can be found in The Horus Heresy Book Three - Extermination.
This model is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Friday 20th February.

Forge World Newsletter #443

Continuing the trend for making you buy things again that you already own...

For eighteen years, the armoury world of Vraks has been subjected to a savage and bitter war, the armies of the Imperium and forces of Chaos ceaselessly fighting each other for control of this once loyal stronghold of the Imperium. Even with the combined might of five Space Marine Chapters, twenty-two Imperial Titans and the near-unending ranks of men and war machines of the Death Korps of Krieg, the outcome is far from certain. For the disciples of Chaos are without number, their vast hordes not only bolstered by vile Daemon Engines from the Warp, but also by an ever-increasing number of warbands of the fearsome Chaos Space Marines.
Imperial Armour – The Siege of Vraks gathers together and presents afresh the story of this monumental conflict, previously published in Imperial Armour Volumes Five, Six and Seven. As well as extensive background information on the siege and the forces engaged in it, such as the Red Scorpions Space Marines Chapter, the Grey Knights and the World Eaters Chaos Space Marines, this 288-page, full colour hardback book contains updated rules and army lists for the Death Korps of Krieg and the Renegades of Vraks. Also included are the heraldry and iconography of the forces deployed to Vraks and rules for the lords and heroes of each faction, including Inquisitor-Lord Hector Rex and the vile Mamon, Daemon Prince of Nurgle.
This book is for use in games of Warhammer 40,000. In order to use this book you will need the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. Imperial Armour - The Siege of Vraks is available to pre-order today for delivery from Friday 13th February.

Just in case you're bored of your Reaver Titans current weapon load-out...

The Reaver is a Battle Titan protected by thick adamantine armour, powerful void shields and bearing devestating weapons. Two weapons such weapons in the arsenal of the Titan Legions are the Reaver Titan Volcano Cannon and the Reaver Titan Chainfist.
The Reaver Titan Volcano Cannon is the largest weapon that the Titan's frame can support. This colossal cannon can unleash a beam of destructive energy detonating into a huge explosion at the point of impact.
As effective at breaching fortifications and strong points as it is at rending Warmachines and enemy Titans and Gargants of the savage Ork empires, the Reaver Titan Chainfist brutal close assault weapon composed of contra-rotating teeth surrounded by a powerful disrupting energy field.
These two titan weapons are multi-part resin kits that can be used for either the left or right arms on the Reaver Titan and Chaos Reaver Titan Body kits. These weapons can be used in both Horus Heresy games and standard games of Warhammer 40,000, rules for using Reaver titans can be found in The Horus Heresy Book One – Betrayal, Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse and Imperial Armour Volume Thirteen - War Machines of the Lost and the Damned.

This is a complete resin kit. It is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Friday 13th February.

Forge World Newsletter #440

Well that's going to make a mess of something...

The Deredeo pattern dreadnought is a dedicated heavy support frame, though it shares many core components and systems with the more general assault-based Contemptor class. Initially deployed in limited numbers to each of the Legions due to difficulties in its manufacture, its durability and firepower saw demand for the Deredeo pattern dramatically increase after the outbreak of the Horus Heresy.
One of the primary weapon systems the Deredeo can mount is the twin-linked Anvilus autocannon battery, a fearsome development of the existing autocannon pattern that can engage and destroy armoured targets with a punishing salvo of fire. The carapace of the Deredeo can also mount additional weapons and support systems, including heavy bolters or heavy flamers for close-in defence as well as the advanced Aiolos missile launcher which, with its sophisticated targetting system, can track targets independantly of the primary weapons system and regardless of intervening terrain.
The Deredeo Pattern Dreadnought is a multi-part resin kit which includes the sarcophagus-mounted heavy bolters or heavy flamer options and an 80mm plastic base. The Anvilus autocannon battery and Aiolos missile launcher are multi-part resin kits which are sold separately. All are available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Friday January 30th. The Aiolos missile launcher shown in the painted images is a pre-production model.  Experimental rules using the Deredeo Pattern Dreadnought in games of Warhammer 40,000 and the Horus Heresy can be found here

Forge World Newsletter #434

They're nice enough if you're building a themed force...and I do like Dreadnoughts...

The Contemptor Dreadnoughts of the Legiones Astartes enabled the mortally injured warriors interred within them to continue to serve their Legions during the Great Crusade, and many fought at the forefront of some of the bloodiest and fiercest battles of the Horus Heresy. A large number were destroyed during those dark times, but some survived and are still in service in the Space Marine Chapters and Chaos Space Marine warbands of the 41st Millennium.

The Contemptor features improved armour and a powerful atomantic arc-reactor, providing increased speed and shielding, as well as allowing it to mount power-hungry weaponry such as the heavy conversion beamer.

These two Contemptor Dreadnoughts have been marked with the heraldry of their Legions, including the coiled hydras and chains of the Alpha Legion and the mystic symbols of the Word Bearers. They may be taken in Legiones Astartes armies in Horus Heresy games using the rules presented in
The Horus Heresy Book One – Betrayal and The Horus Heresy Legiones Astartes: Crusade Army List.

Contemptor Dreadnoughts can also be taken as part of a Space Marines army in standard games of Warhammer 40,000, for which the rules can be found in
Imperial Armour Volume Two – War Machines of the Adeptus Astartes, Second Edition or in a Chaos Space Marines army, for which rules can be found in Imperial Armour Volume Thirteen – War Machines of the Lost and the Damned.

The
Alpha Legion Contemptor Dreadnought and Word Bearers Legion Contemptor Dreadnought are complete multi-part resin kits – weapon arms shown are not included and are available to purchase separately.

These kits are available to order today for immediate dispatch. For Christmas shipping details, please

Forge World Newsletter #433 - Konrad Curze

Getting a somewhat mixed response which I suppose is understandable with a model of a character so iconic...

...for what it's worth...I like it.....

Attacking from darkness with inhuman ferocity, Konrad Curze, the Night Haunter, inspires terror in the hearts of his prey and subjects alike. A vicious combatant, Konrad wrested control of his world, Nostramo, from criminals and corrupt overlords, and began a reign of terror that ensured order through fear. After taking command as their Primarch, his Legion, the Night Lords, gained a reputation for brutality and looked to bring judgment rather than deliverance to worlds reclaimed for the Emperor during the Great Crusade.
Armed with murderous, artificer-lightning claws and micro-serrated throwing blades, Konrad Curze tears through his enemies, making short work of whole units. Despite his great size he is a master of stealth and concealment, moving in darkness and stalking his target. Few men can stand to face him, and none can look on the Night Haunter and not feel the ice of fear in their hearts.
This imposing, highly detailed model depicts Konrad Curze mid-battle. His armour is decorated with trophies of an impressive number of kills, including skulls and flayed skin. His scenic display base includes the corpses of Konrad’s latest victims, a pair of Solar Auxilia warriors, one of them literally torn limb from limb.
This is a complete resin kit with a removable display base. It is available to order now for immediate despatch. For Christmas shipping details please Click Here. When you order this model you will also receive a Free Standard Shipping Voucher for use on your next forge World order.
“It is better by far to be an object of fear than of respect, for one is a truth of the soul and the other an illusion of the mind.”
