Let the games begin.........   We've got another mini range today that gives many options and flexibility. You'll be trying to work out what you want yours to look like. Our Ludus Arena range has been inspired to work with gladiator games like the recently released Sons of Mars or Arena Rex but could also offer a themed layout for Gangs of Rome. Enough included to give you an fantastic starting point. Not only that it's also on a special offer price for this launch week (ends 27th October) You can add to this set with any of the other upgrade options, which can be retro fitted if not added initially. The simplest option to get you started is the Ludus Arena Starter Set. A 500mm Diameter Arena (19.5") It can be upgraded with some additional straight walls which allow you to extend to 500x900mm or 700x700mm (or bigger if you use additional walls) The Grandstand Upgrade Set adds a section for spectators. These simply fit around the curved wall sections and create that crucible of death feel as the crowds bay for blood in the sand. A Gladiator cage upgrade allows somewhere for the combatants to wait their turn. It includes the curved wall section for easy insertion to the arena. The animal cage upgrade adds a little character and allows some more exotic beasts to be added to the entertainment. Again like the Gladiator cage it comes with the required gated wall section. The least exciting option but perhaps one of the handiest these straight wall sections allow you to extend the arena turning it into a large oval or square. as with everything else it can be retro fitted as an expansion at a later stage. This weeks deal is this 'small' church. We call it a small church because its not as big as some of the other churches we do but with a 300x200mm footprint in not exactly small. It also comes with some gravestones and crypts and a Liche Gate so has the making of a awesome diorama centre point for your boards. Take advantage of our generosity while you can. This week sees us releasing not one but two Plantation Mansions, the new Temple of Hercules along with a planter set for your Roman streets. We also preview the Dragon House a centrepiece for the latest Test of Honour campaign set. Fantastic centrepieces for any table and usable for many different periods we are very proud to add our new Plantation Mansions to our North American range. Equally, they have many, many uses some we are sure, you will surprise us with! The interior walls and doors of the house can be assembled in a number of different ways each time you play making encounters inside a very interesting proposition indeed. Phalanx is a wargaming and skirmish gaming convention established for over 20 years focusing on miniatures rather than card games or board games. If you recall the last newsletter, we were inviting pre-orders for Warbanner's 'Gangs of Rome' and Osprey's 'Dracula's America Hunting Grounds'. Both those releases should be ready next week, so we'll be busy getting them out to you. In terms of what is new and with us now, there's a bunch of WW2 releases, firstly some great kits from Rubicon Modelsand secondly Germans in Greatcoatsfrom Crusader Miniatures. Warlord Games have a massive plastic Samurairelease, including a splendid Army Deal. Have a read below for other new releases in stock now. What's new in 2018?Firstly something odd has happened. The next plastic box set from North Star is Snakemen. These are being produced for the the next Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago book, Lost Colossus. The book and the plastic Snakemen are a March release, keep your eye's open for the Nickstarter in February. But I can't show you any pictures of the figures. What I CAN show you are the next Oathmark figures, due for release in April, the Elves! We'll be taking the usual pre-orders for them at the beginning of April. Secondly, Saga, the massively popular Dark Age skirmish game, is changing in 2018. Next month Saga 2 will be released. But it won't just be Dark Ages anymore. The main rules will be multi-period, and you will be able to buy extra army books for the period you want to play. Released with the rules is the first army book, and that'll be the Viking Age. We're anticipating this'll be a huge hit with players, old and new. We still have some of the original game left on the shelf, if you've never bought this classic publication, we're selling it cheap right now, why not get a copy for your library? So the year is starting with  a bang. There's loads more happening of course, and as I said last year, probably lots of things even we're not expecting!
