I was surprised to find that the Forge World Open Day costs you £7.50 a ticket when I'm sure the last time I went it was free...perhaps the definition of 'Open Day' has changed and no-one told me...
On a positive note though I do like the Legion Mark IV Destroyer Squad or perhaps it's just that I like the idea of Marines armed with weapons they shouldn't really have ;-)

Forge World Open Day, Sunday 7th April, Warhammer World, Nottingham
The Studio team are busily painting models and assembling kits to put the finishing touches to the Open Day display boards and cabinets, while in the sales office we’re making sure that we’ve got every last bit of stock we can squeeze out of our production teams. Here’s a little of what you can expect:

Here’s a little of what you can expect:
The Studio Area
The entirety of the Forge World and Warhammer Forge sculpting teams will be attending the Open Day, showcasing all manner of hidden secrets, work-in-progress models and recent releases; Warhammer 40,000 models of a variously armoured, flying, and walking nature along with monstrous additions to our Warhammer Forge range.

The Book Design team will also be based in the Studio area, showcasing the process by which an Imperial Armour book is created. You may even see our artists working on future book projects on their advanced cogitator devices, and our talented writers will be on hand to talk about forthcoming books. They may even be tempted into dropping a few hints about mysterious future projects; on the subject of which…
Imperial Armour Volume 12: The Fall of Orpheus on sale at the Open Day
We can now confirm that we’ll have Imperial Armour Volume 12: The Fall of Orpheus on sale at the Open Day in limited numbers. This 227-page, full colour, hardback book sees a shadowy horror arising in the dark fringes of the galaxy, and the fate of an entire Imperial sector hanging in the balance. By a strange coincidence Alan Bligh has been telling us a little of what the new book contains.

Studio Display Tables
One of the most popular parts of our Studio area is always the lavish display tables, and this year will be no exception, with three brand new tables. Even now, finishing touches are being put to a Horus Heresy Zone Mortalis table, showing a bitter struggle between World Eaters and Salamanders through the tangled corridors and landing bays of a cruiser; an Imperial Armour Volume 12-themed table, showing the sinister hosts of the Maynarkh arising to reclaim their ancient holdings; and a Cityscape display showcasing the fantastic details of these scenery tiles.

Event Only Death Korps Quartermaster and Warrior Priest
The Forge World Event Only model for 2013 is a fantastic Death Korps Quartermaster, designed by Steve Whitehead. Packed with fantastic detail, such as a stylised ribcage sculpted into his flak breastplate, this multi-part resin figure is modelled with pistol drawn and extended, preparing to deliver the Emperor’s Mercy to a fallen Korpsman. The Event Only Death Korps Quartermaster is also supplied with two different weapon options, a laspistol and a plasma pistol.

The Warhammer Forge Event Only model for 2013 is an incredibly detailed Warrior Priest, designed by Edgar Skomorowski. This multi-part resin figure is depicted bearing two hammers into battle and his mail and plate are festooned with the trappings and icons of both the church of Sigmar and the Empire.
Both of the 2013 Event Only models will be available from the sales stand and as always these will be limited to one per person at the event.
Open Day Pre-Releases
In addition to our new releases, main range, and Event Only models, we’re now able to confirm that we will have two more new kits available to buy in limited numbers at the Open Day, as well as Imperial Armour Volume 12: The Fall of Orpheus.

Will Hayes has designed the Legion MkIV Destroyer Squad; units within the Legiones Astartes that are equipped with, and expert in the use of, otherwise proscribed and forbidden weaponry. Considered dishonourable by some Legions, who eschew them altogether or make little use of them, the Destroyers’ arsenal includes rad-weapons, bio-alchem munitions and the crawling horror of Phosphex. These weapons, which irrevocably taint the ground upon which they are used, are otherwise forbidden by the Emperor’s own edict. The fire-blackened and chem-scalded Destroyers are often shunned and distrusted by their Legion brothers, yet none can deny the potency of their relic-weapons.
Blake Spence has recently finished two new hollow resin Realm of Battle tiles, each measuring 2’ x 2’ (609mm x 609mm). The Realm of Battle Crashed Thunderhawk makes for a particularly impressive centrepiece; the mightiest of Space Marine flyers brought low, shattered and hurling into the ground. It is packed with detail, as Blake has painstakingly designed the internal mechanics of this mighty gunship after inflicting terrible impact damage upon its hull.
The Realm of Battle Earthworks is a fantastic addition to any Warhammer gaming table; a hillside position fortified with two earthen bastions for artillery pieces, a forward ravellin, and an additional cavalier. The earthworks also feature sufficient space for units of supporting missile troops. Again, Blake has packed this scenery tile with detail, from cached barrels of blackpowder to discarded shields and crossbows.
