Okay, a while ago I bought a shit-load of guardsmen to use in Apocalypse games as Renegades to supplement my Chaos Space Marines but got bored halfway through their assembly and chucked them in a box.
Though the thought of painting 172 models isn't particularly appealing I do actually have those 172 models if I choose to assemble the rest of them.
This would be number 6 in my self imposed project limit of 5, however. But what the hell It's got to be a change from Space Marine variants hasn't it?.

Total Roster Cost: 2000
3 units of Guardsmen with the Power Weapon Sergeants and a Commissar combine together and are joined by the Priest. Their job is to run towards objectives and overwhelm any enemy on the way by sheer weight of attacks (and Furious Charge from Creeds order if they're within Range).
The 2 units with the Lascannon Teams also combine effectively giving me a twin-linked lascannon with a lot of ablative wounds.
Autocannon Teams pop light Transports or annoy MC's.
Psyker Battle Squads give me high Strength Blasts and the ability to make things run away.
In summary...
172 models, 130 of which are scoring. Plenty of orders to go round (8 in total, I believe).
18x Autocannons, 4x Lascannons, 3x S9 Blasts and some Lasguns.
