2nd Company Project - Ironclads

I figured that the most boring part of this project was going to be applying the base colour to everything. I therefore have decided to get it out of the way first...

The observant amongst you will notice that I only have enough arms for five of them. There was a very good reason for this but it seems a bit silly now...

Time to mix another pot of metallic blue paint and brace myself ready for the Vindicator pile ;-)

  1. You actually mix your metallic paint up?
Interesting, mine is done by washes...

What's the recipe for that lovely blue colour you use? I presume its on a blog post here somewhere?

  2. @ fester - It's Ultramarines Blue and Boltgun Metal, in a roughly 2/1 Mix. I mix a new batch just before I've used the last of the old one so I can match the colour up exactly (well most of the time, lol).

Might be interesting trying to do up an all-in-one for them :)
    Thanks for the info.

  5. Mine too while you're at it.

But pray tell, what happened to the sixth pair of arms? Where are they?

  6. @ GDMNW - I was originally going to use Ironclad Dreadnoughts with appropriate arms as 'Riflemen' as I thought they looked more appropriate as a gun platform. My friend Mike needed a set of arms for something or other so we bought an Ironclad between us.
I later decided against the idea and so now have an Ironclad with no arms. I'm now left to decide whether to buy the ForgeWorld arms or just convert some myself...
