Throne of Skulls - Chris

Okay then. Chris's description of the tournament is pretty short. I've fixed the spelling mistakes for him as well but there's not a lot I can do about the grammar ;-)

An extremely brief word from Chris.
I thought throne of skulls was good fun had some great games against my opponents. I wish there was still 6 games but over all the weekend was good fun because its not just spamming units all the time.

Vs. Blood Angels. - Result : Draw

Game 2.
Vs. Daemons.- Result : Win

Game 3.
Vs. Tyranids.- Result : Win

Game 4.
Vs. Imperial Guard.- Result : Loss

I didn't take any pictures of this game as the guys army was dreadfully painted and the guy himself was a twat. For reference though, here's a picture of the army I took while he was playing against another of my friends.

See what I mean?

Game 5.
Vs. 'White Scars' Space Marines.- Result : Loss

Thoughts, comments and other input are (as usual) most welcome.

  1. Well looks like chris attrected some suck in the paint department games 4 and 5.

Are those guard chimera turrets, hydra turrets etc. actually painted? Looks like plastic, either he didn't apply paint or he applied paint for no reason...

The bike army, how garish do you need to be? Wash the metal at least dammit! Maybe they're fresh from the factoriums of mars?

How did he do? As a suggestion maybe just post up whether they won or not in each game.

  2. i don't know much about Swolves but don't the rune priest need diff powers???

chris had the worst tgf luck with v v bad looking armies. they needed kicking!

  3. @ Citizenwilliams - They can't have exactly the same powers but they can have one the same as long as the other is different. For example, you could have 4 Rune Priests with Jaws of the World Wolf as long as they all had different 2nd powers from one another.

  5. @AD,
Not sure why you are calling those Bikes suck? They may be basic but at least they are painted.

I think those are my friends Demons. I shall check...

  6. The SW list is ok, but could do with some tweaking.

How did the iron priest do ? I bet nearly nothing all tournament. Drop him so you can have wolf guard. For 3 pts more than a grey hunter with a powerfist you could have a wolf guard with powerfist and combi-melta, an extra attack, a one shot melta gun and higher leadership for the squad. Use the remaining spare pts from the iron priest to make the smaller grey hunter squads bigger, or drop one of the runepriests and get another squad with rhino.

Vindicators are nice but are dangerous in an assult army, however I understand if you have nothing to replace them with.

  7. hi from the Space Wolves blog!

  8. @ Rathstar - Ironically, I believe that the Iron Priest had more success leaping out from behind Vindicators and hitting things in the face with his Thunderhammer and Servo-Arm than he did repairing things, lol.
