Location of the most recent breach into Malifaux, Latest area to be occupied by the forces of Cryx, Stronghold of the Dark Legion, Homeworld of the 'Night Reapers' Space Marine Chapter, Council of Seven allocated Deadzone and the lair of some opinionated git called GMort who they let hang out with them...when he's not distracted by Steampunk, Gothic culture or Cosplay...
@ Loquacious - Not much really, somewhere around the £25 mark. Unfortunately work is a bit hit and miss at the moment so I can't really justify any unnecessary expenses :-(
i wasn't overly fussed about going, they'll show off Dreadfleet (snore) and maybe release models for a codex that they won't actually let us buy without apology *cough* space wolves *cough*
i would rather spend the £25 on a new fw book or model, rather than the ability to purchase said items at full price. that £25 could be my next 4 lots of postage
The event was very bias towards Fantasy. Dreadfleet and Ogre Kingdoms being the main focus.
The sales area was so disorganised it was unbelievable. They tried a format where you go around and pick up what you want from forgeworld, black library, direct etc. and then queue for one set of tills, it took forever (queue first to get into sales, then to get to forgeworld, then again for the tills) and they had to hand out water because people were getting faint waiting.
Got to chat with ADB while he wasn't suppose to be there aside from his seminar, i found him sat in Abnetts seat hiding. The authors were the best bit.
Fantasy flight had a stall there and i quizzed one of the games developers quite thouroughly.
All in all there was poor organistaion and after the Forgeworld rush, Author signings, fantasy flight chat and a bit of a look around. I found myself with little to do, for the last 2 hours i mostly sat..
Black Library live is a better event, esp for the money.
I had fun but I was in a cloak which makes everything fun. Chatting to the developers and testing a few new games (fantasy flight) was fun but if FF did an event it would be better.
Also dreadfeelt is fun.... *runs and hides from comment bombard of death*
How much is admission for it over there? Here, it's pretty cheap...

ReplyDeleteMost of the feedback I'm getting seems to follow the same "it was okay...but...." format.
ReplyDeleteIf anybody has any details on why they were dis-satisfied with the event this year then I'd like to hear them.
Was a £30 ticket.

@ A.D. - Thanks for the feedback. Did anything interesting come out of your conversation with the Fantasy Flight guys?
ReplyDeleteI conquer with A.D.
