Following on from yesterdays post,
Dark Eldar.
Blood Angels.
Eldar.
I only took one picture of this army as I've now seen it at so many tournaments that I'm sick of the sight of it , lol.
Chaos Space Marines.
Tau.
Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
Although we discussed on the day how that eldar army that "keeps happening" gets an advantage by not being behind glass, it also got the disadvantage that by not being in a cabinet i didn't realise it was nominated. i thought he was just up himself and placed his army nearby ;)
ReplyDeleteits still ass hat to look at. techniques are nice but color scheme is dreadful
ReplyDelete*Impotent bitter rage*
ReplyDeletealso I don't think just a directional lighting Darth Vader is good enough to be nominated for best painted
ReplyDeleteI was surprised that my Star Wars themed army was nominated as my mate also took his and was not placed. There were far better paint jobs than mine but it was the extensive conversion work that got me in. Apparently!
ReplyDelete@ StrandedNinja - In many cases I think popularity of an army sways the judges. Your Star Wars theme got a lot of attention from passers by and I think that 'buzz' is what got the attention of the judges. Opinion on whether something is the 'best' or not is always going to be highly subjective, lol.
ReplyDeleteI also have photo's of one of your games that also featured a prolonged dual between Vader and Ghazghkull Thraka that I'll be posting at some point over the next couple of weeks.
That was a great game against Ghazghkull! My drop pod lasted for 5 turns with 120 shots from a unit of Lootas and it only lost its storm Bolter!
ReplyDeleteMy army was not as well painted as I would have liked after a restriction from the events team cut the original troops out!
I am glad that I could give people a smile when they saw my army and the events team were very keen on asking how I converted the main parts.
I haven't decided on next years theme yet!
