E-Mail In : My Armies.

E-Mail In :

I've seen a lot of stuff on your blog helping other people with their armies and I like the style of your own Custom chapter but you haven't posted anything for ages on what your actually using yourself in games. I just wondered what your building and/or using at the moment.

Oh and greetings from Canada by the way, lol.

Reply :

I haven't changed the 'Counts As' Space Wolves army list I have been using much at all from when I last posted it. I'm currently working on a bike army and attempting to update my Daemons. I'll repost the lists here for your convenience ;-)

At 2000 points I drop a Chooser of the Slain and add Las/Plas Razorbacks for the Long Fang Squads or twiddle the points of other things around (dropping the Cyclone Wolf Guard does the job nicely) and add 2 more Grey Hunter Squads. The 2 Grey Hunter squads without a Wolf Guard attached to them then become my objective holding units if the rest of the Razorbacks need to move forward.

The updated Daemon army.

This is needing a lot more conversion work in order to match the theme of my existing army than I previously imagined so don't expect to see this on the table-top any-time soon.

The bike army is more an excuse to use my Jet-bike Conversions in an army so I haven't made any final decisions about the overall army list yet. It will probably be the standard Captain, Command Squad, Biker Troops, Landspeeder mix that pretty much everybody uses ;-)

Something like this,

1750 Pts - Space Marines Roster

Total Roster Cost: 1750

This is the list most subject to change as I'll probably be making more concessions to 'theme' than I normally do in order to justify the 'Jetbikes' ;-)

Also as several of my friends have needed to practice against Lash Lists due to them having infantry Grey Knight and Blood Angel Jump Pack armies (and Dual Lash is still fairly common in UK tournaments) I have been using this,

Yes I know it's pretty rubbish but I've had a lot of practice using it so I can still cause people problems with it should I put my mind to it, lol.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

  1. So, quick question:

What codexes are you able to provide list optimization for? Obviously Space Wolves, Chaos Daemons, Space Marines and Chaos Space Marines will work, and Tyranids, Skaven, and Imperial Guard are good bets too, but otherwise there's really no way to tell.

  2. @ C'nor - I can optimise pretty much any 40K army if I set my mind to it. There are better people to ask about Skaven than me though, lol.

Bear in mind that from the point of view of incoming e-mail requests I define 'Optimisation' as making the best of the list that's sent to me. I can design a list based around a theme if that's what people want but it's obviously going to be less balanced than one designed from scratch (in most cases).
