Our Movember fund raising begins today officially, though you have been giving very generously already, we've over £200 already. Hurrah!
Welcome to the Pulp Figures! My name is Bob Murch and I’m the sculptor, mould maker, caster, shipper and chief bottle washer of this plucky, rag-tag enterprise. Pulp Figures turned 10 years old in 2012 and since its beginning, when I often had to explain the term ‘Pulp’ to many gamers, Pulp Adventure gaming has become an established genre familiar to gamers with many excellent rules systems to choose from. The inspiration for Pulp Figures remains early 20th Century ‘Pulp Era’ adventure film and fiction and the minis remain oriented towards table-top gaming. This is not to say that role-players won't find the miniatures exciting and useful. Everything under the Pulp Figures banner is character driven with fun and personality given priority over strict historical accuracy. Pulp

Congo Mary: The Throne of Thunder is a complete campaign for Congo, Adventures in the Heart of Africa.  Congo Mary recounts one of the heroic journeys of British explorer Mary Kingsley.  It culminates with her ascension of Mount Camaroon - also known as the Throne of Thunder.
The campaign is made up of a series of adventures, linked together by an ongoing story-line and by special rules that allow players to develop and hopefully flourish as the plot unfolds.  This campaign will entertain and surprise you, offer many hours of wonder, some stimulating setbacks and considerable pleasure.
This campaign has been written specifically for two players, each one stepping into the shoes of one of the two protagonists of this perilous quest:  British explorer Mary Kingsley  and Uguwa a powerful sorcerer.
After facing up to the challenge of six new adventures (six new scenarios) you will face off in what we guarantee to be an epic and breathtaking finale.

Photo of THE ARMY OF JAMES II (BP-Helion04)THE ARMY OF
JAMES II

1685-1688.
THE BIRTH OF THE BRITISH ARMY

Between James’ accession in February 1685 and flight in December 1688 the British Armies increased four fold, in 1689 the new King, William III, kept James’ Army in being and within a few years it was to become the Army which led the victories at Blenheim and elsewhere of the Great Duke of Marlborough, who had himself been a General in James’ Army. It has been said that amongst William’s reasons for accepting the British Crowns was a fear that the British Army would serve in alliance with Louis XIV against him. Despite this, James’ part in the creation of the British Army is often deliberately overlooked or ignored. The political aspects of James’ reign, and thus of the Army, are well covered in numerous works but this book looks at the creation of the enlarged Armies of England, Scotland and Ireland - their uniforms and flags, organization and weapons, their drill and their strength, their pay and their Staff. Researched primarily from contemporary documents and manuscripts, including those in the rarely accessed Royal Library at Royal Archives at Windsor, it will go a long way to restoring these years, and the last Stuart King, to their true importance in the creation of the British Army.
Photo of Wargame the American Revolutionary War - Paper Soldiers (BP1600)Wargame the American Revolutionary War Paper Soldiers
In the 'Battle in America' series well-known historical illustrator Peter Dennis breathes life back into the 19th century paper soldier, supplying all the artwork needed to create the armies which struggled for Liberty across the states of the colonial new world. Here Washington's army can clash again with the redcoats of the King, using simple rules from veteran wargamer Andy Callan. Although the figures can be used with any of the commercial sets of wargame rules, an introduction to wargaming and a simple set of rules by veteran wargamer Andy Callan is included, along with buildings, trees and even artillery and brave Minute men and ruthless Hessian mercenaries.

Death in the Dark Continent
Wargaming in 19th Century Africa
Photo of Death in the Dark Continent. (BP1569)Death in the Dark Continent is a 176 page, full colour, hard back book that takes the reader deep into late 19th Century Africa.
At it's heart is a wargame, a game that allows the player to field armies of miniature figurines representing African Tribes, European Invaders and Native Kingdoms.
With an emphasis on the people of Africa as well as the Colonial Invaders, Death in the Dark Continentis a unique publication offering 80 different army lists covering all the vastly different forces in Sub-Saharan Africa 1870 to 1899.
Death in the Dark Continent also includes a historical background to the situation in Africa 1870-99, a who's who of the major players and a 'bonus' skirmish game.
