Unboxing - Incursion from Grindhouse Games (Part 1)

One of the many Kickstarters I've pledged to over the years was this interesting one from Grindhouse Games that landed on my doorstep earlier this week. I pledged for the full game plus the expansion and any extras so a quite substantial parcel arrived on my doorstep.

Information on the Kickstarter can be found here for those of you who want a bit of background on the project...you're a year or so too late to pledge though, lol.

I'm going to divide this un-boxing up a little as there's a lot too look at and I'd like to cover the core game, the expansion and extra the Kickstarter related bonuses separately as there's a lot of stuff to look at. In this first feature we'll look at the core box and have a first look at the models.

The Box
A picture of the box is mandatory in such articles...so here it is...

The Instructions
The instruction booklet is nice quality, well laid out and has good descriptions of the rules with diagrams as well. It's not exactly chock full of background and artwork but what there is is more than sufficient and the quality of both is good. Here are some sample pages...

The core box also contains an expansion booklet with some extra rules, missions and the like in it for which you'll need the extra board piece that we'll come to in a bit.

The Game Board
The board is of the fold-out variety but is of good quality and looks like it's made to last. It's also double sided though the expansion piece isn't (not that it needs to be). Here's pictures of both sides...

Tokens and Counters
The counters are off the 'push-out' variety and of  the same high quality as the game board. I've shown pictures of the backs as well but they're not particularly interesting.

Card Sets
The game comes with stat cards for both The German SWD and The US Lucky Seventh and some 'Battle' cards which can be played throughout the game for a variety of effects. There are loads of the Battle cards so I've only done pictures of the stat ones...

The Models
The game comes with two factions. One is the US Lucky Seventh and the other are the German SWD (Special Weapons Development). The German SWD also get access to quite a lot of zombies. The models are detailed enough to be worthy of a close look so I'll just show some basic pictures here and we can have a detailed look in part two which will appear shortly.
A detailed look at the US Lucky Seventh can be found here.
A detailed look at the German SWD can be found here.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.

    1. 32mm for the humanoid ones though some of the heavy armoured ones are obviously a bit taller to keep the proportions correct (more like 35mm).
