"A different kind of charming..."
The Charm Warders box contains enough parts for two miniatures...namely the Charm Warders. It also contains stat cards for them though there are no upgrade cards.
Charm Warders
Charm Warders are powerful Chi users who have dedicated their lives to warding off evil spirits. By harnessing and focusing their Chi, they are able to create mystical barriers that prevent spirits from passing. The most powerful of their number can even create powerful Chi Blades, which can cut through many of the defences of otherworldly creatures.
Since last year's Battle of London, some Charm Warders have felt the barriers between the worlds weakening. These men and women have travelled to Malifaux in search of some way to repair the damage being done to the world.
As with most spellcasters, the magical talents of the charm warders have increased significantly since they passed through the Breach. Most end up selling their services to the Ten Thunders in exchange for the ability to study the Oni, ghosts, and other strange creatures at their beck and call.
As a group, the charm Warders are starting to realise that Malifaux itself might be the problem. They have started to research a way to strengthen the barrier between worlds in the hopes of saving Earth... even if it means the loss of Malifaux.
Charm Warders - Sprue
The box has two sprues one of which is split into two pieces (so it actually fits in the box one presumes) as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of them and close-ups of the sub-assemblies.
Charm Warders - Stat Cards
Stat cards in the official format can now be downloaded from Wargame Vault for a nominal fee from HERE.
Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.
Charm Warders - Instructions
Some General Notes on Assembly
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.
Additionally...my own assembly notes are written as I go along so I'd suggest reading them all the way through before starting the assembly process.
Charm Warders
Charm Warder 1 - Assembled
One of the cloak pieces has a recess that aligns with the body and the second has dome that slots beneath. I would recommend assembling the legs as sub assembly then attaching them to the rest of the model as a whole. You'll also need to add the feet before gluing the halves that surround them as they are moulded to fit the recess. They may also need some filing or trimming to fit the slots (mine did). There's a fairly delicate sash piece on the rear of the head that is a potential weak point also.
Charm Warder 2 - Assembled
This model is deceptively easy to assemble as the parts are fairly large and have decent attachment points with two exceptions. The separate hand has quite delicate fingers and the face is also separate for some reason. As with the other model the sash emerging from the rear of the head is a potential weak point.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
I purchase my miniatures from Leodis Games (Link Below) and can highly recommend them.
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...
