In part one we looked at the main components from the box and in part two we looked at the rank and file creatures so this time we'll look at the monstrous boss and sub-bosses our heroes will be fighting...
First a brief introduction courtesy of the game manufacturers...
Dark Souls™ - The Board Game is a strategically challenging, deeply immersive combat exploration game for 1-4 players set in the Dark Souls™ universe. Players choose from a number of core character classes and explore dangerous locations full of monsters, treasures, and deadly boss fights.
Designed specifically for the Dark Souls™ universe and introducing a number of innovative gameplay mechanics, with world-class miniatures faithful to the rich universe, this game delivers an experience that captures the very essence of the original video games.
You can see larger versions of the pictures by clicking on them and they're at a high enough resolution so you can get a good idea of the level of detail.
The creatures your heroes will be battling against are iconic enemies from the Dark Souls video game and are roughly divided into Bosses, Sub-Bosses and some 'Rank and File' enemies. Each one has their own stat card while the more powerful ones also have cards related to a number of special attacks at their disposal. I've also (where possible) included pictures of the equivalent creatures from the video game to give you some basis for comparison.
Gargoyle
Titanite Demon
Boreal Outrider Knight
Winged Knight
Ornstein and Smough
Dancer of the Boreal Valley
We'll look at the player characters next time as well as some scale comparisons between them and their enemies...
Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
