Unboxing Raging Heroes - Raven 'The Chainbreaker'

"Freedom!!!"

In this feature we're going to look at one of the characters for the Jailbirds...

For those of you who are interested in the background for Raging Heroes various 'Toughest Girls of the Galaxy' projects then the link to their original Kickstarter can be found here, their last project is here and their own website is located here. Most of their original Kickstarter is now available to purchase retail. There is also apparently a game system in development but until then I'm sure there are many other systems that you can be using them for...

First we'll have a brief look at the background for the Jailbirds and then we'll meet Raven.

THE JAILBIRDS DIVISION (JB)
They are a bunch of low-life bad-ass big-attitude girls who all ended up in planetary prison held by the Kurganov government. In the game, they will be used as small penitentiary contingents led by the Kurganova Shock Troops, or as a full autonomous faction (because, as you can easily imagine, many of them have escaped captivity).

They are commando-style units with nothing to lose, and they specialise in acquiring enemy equipment for their own purposes.

Raven 'The Chainbreaker'
The Freedom Fighter of the Jailbirds could only be their leader, as all their lives are about getting free from the Kurganova's clutches. So, meet Raven the Chain Breaker, supreme leader of the Jailbirds. Even more than a prisoner, Raven used to be a gladiator slave who fought for a powerful family of the Kurganova realm. Through her prowess in the arena and her cunning intelligence, she became some sort of star among the Kurganova society. But all this was part of her careful plans to achieve freedom for her and her cohorts.

The 'Raven Uprising', as it was later called, was the first episode of massive jailbreaks on the Kurganova prison planet. Raven was then able to unite the fleeing Jailbirds and to raid enough Kurganova military supplies to form a small but strong army that have vowed to keep on harassing the Kurganova forces until their prisons are empty.
Raven 'The Chainbreaker' - Unassembled
Here's pictures of both sides of the unassembled model parts.

A Brief Note About Resin Models.
Also it's worth noting that many resin models have a slightly greasy feel caused by the substance they use to stop them sticking to the moulds during production and this can cause issues with paint not sticking to the model properly. Carefully washing the parts in soapy water will remove this should your model be unduly affected. Parts that are bent (or that aren't and you want to be) can be corrected by heating up slightly in warm water and then bending into the required configuration.

Raven 'The Chainbreaker' - Assembled
This model has separate arms, head and one leg. All parts have adequate location points and other than the usual minor clean-up this model should cause no issues with assembly.

Raven 'The Chainbreaker' - Extras
Here's a look at some renders, painted pictures and early artwork from the Kickstarter process that may interest you all.
