The latest additions to Call of Cthulhu courtesy of Chaosium...
#62 the straight scoop from the well of chaos...

The Miskatonic Repository is Live!

Chaosium's Miskatonic Repository went live today,
opening with five original scenarios by community creators to light the way through cosmic horror.

The Miskatonic Repository is a new community content program on DriveThruRPGwhere creators can publish and distribute their own original Call of Cthulhu content.

Here's how it works: under the Miskatonic Repository community content license, Call of Cthulhu fans can make their own work for use with the game line available to the public, using guidelines, templates, and art provided by Chaosium. Whether they share their content for free or put it up for sale, this program will be a digital home for terror that will soon join the dreamscapes of all who peruse it.
We're helping kick things off at the Miskatonic Repository with five original Call of Cthulhuscenarios by community creators. And more are sure to quickly follow!
The five initial contributions are:
  • TERROR ITSELF - a 1920s Call of Cthulhu scenario, by David Naylor & James Coquillat
  • PLAGUE - a modern-day scenario for Call of Cthulhu, by Noah Lloyd & Matt Ryan
  • TALES OF THE MONOLITH, Part I (The Scales of Time) and Part II (Trail of the Monolith) - each part an installment of a two-fisted 1920s Call of Cthulhu scenario, by Mike Nagel
  • ISLE OF MADNESS - a Pulp Cthulhu scenario set in the 1930s, by Ed Possing.
And more from other community contributors are sure to quickly follow!

What is Ab Chaos?
(...from Ab Chaos #7, May 31 1992)

Ab - Latin "from"
Chaos - (1) Any condition or place of total disorder (modern vernacular); (2) the disordered state of unformed matter which preceded creation (since Milton, Paradise Lost); (3) the dark, empty space which preceded creation (Greek Mythology); (4) the [formerly] Californian roleplaying game company.

Ab Chaos is an informal newsletter for Chaosium fans. Through our history we have tried to serve the players and gamemasters through craft and art as well as (and sometimes at the expense of) marketing and moneymaking. We appreciate your loyalty, and offer this communication to those who are curious about us, beyond the mere "product".

It is planned to be informal and irregular. We are, after all, not the Orderium.
