Unboxing Guild Ball - Fisherman's Guild

Steamforged Games Kickstarter 'Guild Ball' has landed on most pledges doorsteps now and is also available to buy from a number of locations. I'll be getting the few models I'm missing from the Guilds that I was too poor to buy at the Kickstarter stage from my friendly local game store Titan Games.

Most Guilds consist of six or seven available models with the starter sets containing three to get you up and running. A standard 'small' game involves three models (a 'Captain' and two others) with the larger game being six (a Captain, a mascot and four others). There are also a number of models who can act as 'Mercenaries' though some of these only work for particular Guilds. The aforementioned mercenaries will get there own post after I've covered all the more traditional guilds.

Ain't no other team that can catch 'em, and until someone seriously gets their game on, the Fisherman's Guild are going to keep winning.

Fisherman play style is all about movement and raw goal-scoring potential. They are dominant in the early game and can easily draw one or two goals ahead very quickly. However, mid to late game they need to be wary, especially if they lose a player or two. They excel at movement and kicking the ball - they are practically all about offense. Their combo play revolves around (re)positioning and exploitation of space. Whilst not entirely equipped with raw damage soaking defence, they instead have far subtler defensive options that focus much more on space control.

The Kickstarter deals for teams were generally six of the seven available models for the Guild so these features won't all be quite complete. I will however add the missing models to them as my need to have everything inevitably results in me purchasing them. Some of the Kickstarter teams also included an alternate version of certain models so where the model is an alternate sculpt I'll point it out. The only model from the current Fisherman's Guild range missing from this feature is Jac...

Should you be looking at purchasing a starter set then the one for the Fisherman's Guild contains Shark, Siren and Angel. The Kickstarter models don't come with a box so here's an 'official' picture from the website of the starter set contents.

Each model comes with a stat card and the starter set comes with a ball as well. Here are the stat card pictures for the six models that I currently possess. If your fortunate enough to have had a demo of this game you may notice that there's some slight differences between the demo cards rules for some of the Fishermans Guild models and the full game ones, none of these are major though.

Stat Cards.

The models themselves are multi-part though obviously some have more parts than others and there's a couple that require no assembly at all. Here they are unassembled...

Shark (Captain) and Salt (Mascot)
This is the alternate Kickstarter version of the captain. I'll add a picture of the original one if I acquire it in the future.

Angel, Greyscales, Kraken and Siren

The Ball.
I know you probably don't care about this but I'm a bit of a completest, lol.

These are them assembled. They are based on the resin bases that were part of my Kickstarter pledge. The detail on these models is excellent and in order to show them to their full potential I've taken front, rear and side views.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
