The Oiran box contains enough parts for three miniatures...namely the Oiran. It also contains stat cards for them though there are no upgrade cards. This box was originally available with the 1.5 Stat Cards in it though if you buy it now it will obviously contain M2E ones...this article will contain pictures of both...
The box has one sprue in it as well as the aforementioned cards...
Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures by clicking on them. Mine are assembled on Fenris Games Floorboard bases but a number of companies produce similar ones...or you can make your own with bits of those coffee stirrers that all hobbyists should 'acquire' a handful of every time they can...
Stat Card (1.5)
With the advent of version 2 (M2E) these 1.5 version stat cards are obsolete but they are included here for the sake of completeness.
Stat Card (M2E)
These are the current ones.
Oiran 1 - Assembled.
Most of this model is in one piece though the hands, head and hair are separate.
The hands are quite small and the locations they join the arms at are quite precisely shaped therefore you'll need to make sure you've thoroughly removed any of the sprue before gluing. You'll notice on the picture below that I have some tiny gaps on mine that I'll need to fill...this could have been avoided if I'd have been a bit more careful with my clean-up.....
Oiran 2 - Assembled.
The body is in two parts and the rear of the cloak is separate as is the face and the spear tip. The joint at the end of the spear where the blade joins may seem quite small but is actually quite secure and is circled in the fourth of the below pictures.
Oiran 3 - Assembled.
The body is in two parts being separated into body and legs. Additionally, one of her 'fan' weapons is a separate piece and her head comes in two parts. The head consists of a hair part and her face and the hair part needs to be put on first...this may seem obvious but I know of at least one person who didn't put it on being unsure of what it was.....
You can see the hair pieces on the picture below circled though the cross piece is obviously covered by the face once it's attached.
Some close-ups of the fans...
Here's a group shot...
Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
