'Just let me change into something less comfortable...'
This was a 'Special Edition' model as part of a recent Wyrd Games sale and therefore arrived in a bag rather than the usual Wyrd Games box...so this is technically an un-bagging rather than an un-boxing but I'm not creating a new tab, lol. It's entirely possible that this model will appear in future promotional events as previous 'Limited Edition' models have also re-appeared later...
The Alternate Barbaros bag contains enough parts for one miniature...namely Alternate Barbaros. It also contains a stat card for him though there are no upgrade cards.
Alternate Barbaros - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it as well as the aforementioned card. Here's pictures of both sides of it...
Alternate Barbaros - Stat Card
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...
Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.
Alternate Barbaros - Instructions
Some General Notes on Assembly.
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.
Alternate Barbaros - Assembled
The arms need aligning with the hands already on the sword though they did fit together surprisingly well. I found that one wing doesn't fit comfortably in it's slot and can swivel a fair bit and in the absence of a rear view on the instructions I placed it where in my humble opinion it looks best.
Alternate Barbaros - Comparison Picture
Here's a comparison picture between Barbaros and Alternate Barbaros. The original model came with a 30mm base but it was soon announced that he should be on a 40mm...however I'd already based mine when the error was announced...
Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
Hey,
ReplyDeleteI really love your unboxings, big fan!
Quick Q, What do you usually use for the slate on your bases?
Your welcome.
DeleteI use the stuff that's typically sold in garden centres and the like for covering the tops of pots and similar...though I'm not above 'liberating' such material should I find it in other locations, lol.
When did this wyrd sale happen? The last sale I remember was the Easter sale. I think I stayed quite in touch with weird's announcements and just wonder what notification system I missed. How did you find out about the sale?
