Raging Heroes 'Toughest Girls of the Galaxy' Kickstarter had the laudable aim of creating several female themed armies that could be used in a variety of existing game systems and eventually with the ambition of creating their own rules system as well. At the time of writing this they're at the 'create some awesome armies' part of this mission...
For those of you who are interested in the background for their various projects then the link to their original Kickstarter can be found here, their last project here and their own website here. much of their original Kickstarter is now available to purchase retail.
First lets have a bit of background on the faction these models are from and then we'll have a detailed look at the specific models this feature is concentrating on...
The Iron Empire
The Iron Empire is made up of exiled people that have somehow stumbled upon necromantic knowledge from alien pharaonic gods. They combine Prussian and Germanic influences with some kind of Aegyptian cyber necromancy that allow them to raise the dead and create bio-mechanical aberrations.
There are currently seven different Cyber Zombies. Five are available together as a box set and two others are available individually, one being #42 Cyber Zombie Bodyguard and the other being W101 Cyber Zombie Bodyguard. Though the model range doesn't yet have it's own rule set these models are perfect to 'count-as' models from a number of miniature wargaming ranges.
Excoriators Cyber Zombies
First we'll look at the Cyber Zombies from the core box and after that we'll look at the other two individual models.
Cyber Zombies - Box Cover
The models do indeed come in a box unless you acquired them via the Kickstarter in which case they'll have arrived in a bag of some kind.
Cyber Zombies - Unassembled
Here's pictures of both sides of the unassembled parts for each of the five Cyber Zombies.
Cyber Zombies - Assembled
The models are made of a good quality resin and were free of air bubbles and had very few mould lines. There's a fair bit of supporting material to remove and be careful when removing the smaller parts from the sprue so you don't cut anything off you shouldn't do or damage any of the detail that may be nearby.
Here are the aforementioned other pair of available models
#42 Cyber Zombie Bodyguard
#42 is one of the many cyber zombies used by the Iron Empire. Most of them are completely interchangeable, having lost all form of human consciousness and individuality. But as unthinkable as it may seem, there appears to be a very small light still flickering in the mind of #42.
She used to be a very strong-willed Jailbird warrior who got killed during a particularly violent Iron Empire raid. Her body was scavenged by the Iron Empire embalmers who set her alongside the most promising victims of their grim harvest. Her body was still in a very good condition and her strong musculature made her a perfect choice to be recycled as a bodyguard for a high-ranking character.
When Lady Hilda von Stroheim asked for a full replacement of her bodyguard crew, #42 was appointed to her service and soon proved to be her most effective protector.

This model has two options for the weapon barrel and I chose the multiple barrel version rather than the larger single barrel option. You can see the other option in the unassembled pictures above.

Also it's worth noting that many resin models have a slightly greasy feel caused by the substance they use to stop them sticking to the moulds during production and this can cause issues with paint not sticking to the model properly. Carefully washing the parts in soapy water will remove this should your model be unduly affected. Parts that are bent (or that aren't and you want to be) can be corrected by heating up slightly in warm water and then bending into the required configuration.
