I'll wish you all a Merry Christmas first of all, we will have another newsletter before the big day, but it doesn't harm to say it twice.

Our much reduced St Nicks Grotto is still going; it'll close the week before Christmas, so you've a few weeks still to buy some of our Festive miniatures.

Speaking of limited release items, the new Medievalstarter set from Fireforge Games comes in next week and they have only sent 100 of them to us, and that's it. So if you want one for Christmas, snap it up now.

As always, we've lots of new stuff to show you this newsletter, all of it is of note but one especially for Ancient/ Medievalplayers is 'Swordpoint'. This is Gripping Beast's new wargame for big battles. You may have seen me in a recent Wargames Soldiers and Strategy article playing it with the editor of that magazine. I enjoyed the game a lot. Not knowing how to play beforehand, my plan was to use the Russian army as it would have performed historically against Teutonic Knights, which I did and I won. I felt that was a great endorsement for the game play of Swordpoint. Try it for yourself!

SWORDPOINT  Swordpoint is a new set of “big battle” game rules for fighting actions in the ancient and medieval periods. It has been developed over the last two and a half years by the Gripping Beast team and an enthusiastic play-test group. It was developed with our 28mm figures but, as it employs multi-figure bases, various sizes of figures can be used. Games fought with Swordpoint involve between 100 and 250 figures per side arranged into between 6 and 12 or so units. .
