I first want to say a big thank you to all the backers who joined in our Dracula's America Nickstarter. It was a fantastic success, all the orders have left our warehouse so I hope you'll be playing and enjoying the game very soon. The rulebook is available to buy now, as are the official Dracula's America figures. The figures were all inspired by the fabulous artwork of a-RuMor, the Dracula's America illustrator. At the moment we're still selling them individually. At some point in the near future they'll be reorganised into packs and/ or box sets, like we did with Rogue Stars if you recall. If there are individual figures you want, snap them up now.

If you haven't bought into Dracula's America, let me direct you to a number of places on the net where we can persuade you to get involved. Firstly there are two reviews of Dracula's America, one from Wargames Illustrated, the other from YouTuber Tracy George. Secondly, visit the Osprey Games Blog page where they go into a bit more detail about the different factions involved. If you want to chat about Dracula's America, join the Facebook players page where other enthusiasts are hanging out. |

The big news rumbling forward is the launch ofFrostgrave Ghost Archipelago. This is the new stand alone game from Osprey and author Joseph McCullough. Visit Joe's Blog where he's giving regular updates about the game, there's about 4 to catch up on so far, I think. Here's a first glimpse of the frames of the plastic Crewmen for Frostgrave Ghost Archipelago, and the box cover artwork. |

We'll be putting all these together in September in a Nickstarter pre-order campaign, with lots of offers and rewards for participants. Be warned, there'll be lots of stuff, it's going to be expensive to buy it all, so save your money now!

PartizanWe'll be attending the showPartizan in Newark UK on the 20th of August. As always, we're teaming up with Ainsty Castings to bring you the Mega Stand. As well as a wide selection of all North Starfigures and rulebooks, we'll be hosting three games. The first will be Dracula's America, and author Jonathan Haythornthwaite will be with us to chat about the game and have a run through if you've time. The second is Death in the Dark Continent, where Dave King is bringing the Great Zimbabwe to be fought over by Boers and Matabele. The third isOpen Combat, and author Carl Brown will be running games set in 1672with our favourite North Star figure range swashbuckling about.

Wargaming in 19th Century Africa |
Death in the Dark Continent is a 176 page, full colour, hard back book that takes the reader deep into late 19th Century Africa. At it's heart is a wargame, a game that allows the player to field armies of miniature figurines representing African Tribes, European Invaders and Native Kingdoms. With an emphasis on the people of Africa as well as the Colonial Invaders, Death in the Dark Continent is a unique publication offering 80 different army lists covering all the vastly different forces in Sub-Saharan Africa 1870 to 1899. Death in the Dark Continent also includes a historical background to the situation in Africa 1870-99, a who's who of the major players and a 'bonus' skirmish game. |
