"Feast, my Darlings..."
The Alternate Nekima box contains enough parts for one miniature...namely Alternate Nekima. It also contains a stat card for her and a single upgrade card. An unboxing of the 'normal' plastic version can be found HERE should you be interested or if that's what you were actually looking for...
Editors Note - This was bought during the GenCon 2017 sale so may not be available on general release however all such models inevitably appear during subsequent sales...
Nekima
Before the closing of the first Breach, Nekima ruled over the Nephilim. When Lilith collapsed the Breach, she also usurped her sister’s throne. Nekima found herself outnumbered and was forced to bend the knee to her younger sister. Now, she plots her revenge, waiting for the right time to strike against her more cunning sibling.
Nekima is one of the most expensive models in the game; she is a massive melee-focused model with great speed that does amazing damage. She has useful Triggers and can generate Wp duels, which makes her appealing for Pandora. She is good at healing damage she has suffered, and she can take advantage of her “Black Blood” ability by purposefully suffering damage to make all models near her suffer damage. Nekima excels with other Nephilim but fits in any crew that needs a large, threatening model. She is an intimidating piece on the board, often determining the course of a game.
Alternate Nekima - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it split into two pieces (so it actually fits in the box one presumes) as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of it and close-ups of the individual sections.
Alternate Nekima - Stat Card
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...
Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.
Alternate Nekima - Instructions
Some General Notes on Assembly
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.
Alternate Nekima - Assembled
The mode consists of large easy to handle parts though there are a number of tiny spikes on the horns. There are good location points for all parts making this model very simple to assemble.
Alternate Nekima - Comparison Picture
Here's a couple of comparison pictures between the original metal version (rear), the new M2E plastic one (left) and this 'Alternate' version (right).
The original metal version was notoriously unstable being a very heavy model balanced on one ankle and the newer plastic version though much simpler to assemble and transport gained some criticism due to it's significantly smaller scale. In my opinion this new alternate version is the best of the three by far and is well worth looking out for.
Alternate Nekima - Rotational View
Here's a nice profile picture...and a rotational view of course...
Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...
