Unboxing Malifaux - Serena Bowman

"A friendly face..."

The Serena Bowman box contains enough parts for one miniature...namely Serena Bowman. It also contains a stat card for her and there are three upgrade cards.

Serena Bowman
Serena Bowman first discovered her ability to warp reality when she stepped off the train to Malifaux. She was immediately set upon by Witch Hunters, and though her newfound powers bought her a few moments of respite, she caught a bullet in the head and died.
The next thing she remembered, she gasped to life on McMourning's operating table. He panicked and killed her, only for Serena to return to life a few moments later. Intrigued, he removed her skin and gave it to one of his nurses to see if the resurrection could transfer with organ donation. It was days before she was able to steal a new skin and flee the horrible laboratory.
In terrible agony, she eventually encountered the dreamer, who taught her how to control her powers. In return, she provided him with a sympathetic ear... and drew Nytemare's attention when the Tyrant realised that she might be able to serve as a potential host, should something unfortunate happen to the Dreamer.

Serena Bowman - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of it.

Serena Bowman - Stat Cards
Stat cards in the official format can now be downloaded from Wargame Vault for a nominal fee from HERE.

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Serena Bowman - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Serena Bowman - Assembled
There are some delicate strands of hair on the head that could easily break so take care when handling the main body section of which the head is part. The dress sections align fairly well though you'll want to dry-fit first to ensure a good fit as one of mine shifted a little. The attachment points for the separate feet aren't great and they will go on at a variety of angles so you'll need to check the angle before gluing if you want to match the pose on the box. Finally, the fingers on the separate right hand are tiny in the extreme so make sure you don't break them when removing the part from the sprue and when handling.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
I purchase my miniatures from Leodis Games (Link Below) and can highly recommend them.
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a can keep that info to yourself...
