"Not the eyes!!!!"
The Guild Austringers box contains enough parts for two miniatures...namely the Guild Austringers. It also contains stat cards for them though there are no upgrade cards.
Guild Austringers - Sprue
The box has two sprues in it as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of them...
Guild Austringers - Stat Cards
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...
Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.
Guild Austringers - Instructions
Some General Notes on Assembly
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.
Guild Austringers
Guild Austringer 1 - Assembled
Three of the parts of this model contain tiny straps and these are one of two issues with this model. As the 'Raptor' has separate tiny feet and there are a couple of thin pieces on the head this means that care needs to be taken right from the bit removal part of the process. There are grooves in the models body (front and rear) for the bag straps and in theory all the other straps should align with one another. I broke most of them during the assembly process so they ended up being put roughly where they were meant to be but the slight 'lumps' on them are due to my repairs rather than being originally on the parts. The raptor has separate legs which will attach to the model at pretty much any point and angle so you need to at least make them parallel so they attach to the handlers arm. Unfortunately there's significant play in the location points where the legs meet the Raptor body so dry-fit and test alignment before gluing the raptor legs into place or you may have trouble aligning them with the arm.
Guild Austringer 2 - Assembled
This one is much simpler as the Raptor has only one separate leg and there are no straps...admittedly the guy has a separate hand but it's fairly substantial by Wyrds standards. I'd recommend attaching the hand to the arm before attaching the arm to the body and the separate leg to the raptor before attaching that to the arm as that gives you the greatest amount of wiggle room.
Guild Austringers - Comparison Pictures and Rotational Views
Here's a couple of comparison pictures between the original metal versions and the new M2E plastic ones and a rotational view of each model.
Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...
