Unboxing Strontium Dog - The Good, the Bad & the Mutie

Many years ago I used to play a miniatures game based around the world of 2000AD's Judge Dredd and was somewhat disappointed when the support for it basically disappeared. So imagine my elation when I discovered that some-one was making a Strontium Dog miniatures game...

I was originally only planning on getting the starter set but my local gaming store 'Board in Brum' had an excellent offer on the whole bundle of initial releases which saved me about £20 so I had that instead, lol.
Note - You can see larger versions of the smaller pictures by clicking on them...
As usual I shall be doing one of my wonderfully in depth unboxing features on the starter set and the models within.
The set comes with an instruction book, a leaflet containing scenarios designed primarily for the models in the starter set and all the tokens and dice you'll need to play as well as some scenery that you'll need to assemble...more on that later. The only thing missing is a measuring tape.

Tokens and Accessories
The box contains dice of course. Two are standard D6's and the other eight are 2000AD 'Combat' dice used for various purposes while playing the game.
You get two sets of tokens which are identical apart from colour which I've taken pictures of both sides of.

Instruction Booklet and Scenarios
The instruction booklet is chock full of illustrations from the Strontium Dog comics, pictures of painted miniatures and has diagrams as well as written explanations of the game rules.
Just so you can get an idea of the look of the book I've done a very brief rough and ready video of my flicking through it. Don't expect to be able to actually read any of it though, lol. It's also sideways...sorry about that...
The scenario booklet is also very well laid out.

Armoury, Chicanery and Character Cards
Each main character gets their own cards though a couple of them have to share one. All the cards are double-sided so I've shown both sides in the pictures below...
The armoury and chicanery cards are all individually illustrated.

The Miniatures
The majority of the models in the starter set are single piece with only two of them needing their arms adding. They're all metal and come with plastic 25mm bases.

Lets have a look at them all assembled and based shall we...

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome.
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...
